"Mitchell, are you okay?"
"I'm hungry."
Just as the words left his mouth, his stomach grumbled. They both looked at his stomach and started laughing.
"Come on, let me feed you."
They left his bedroom and went back downstairs straight towards the kitchen.
"Have a seat." Markus went to the refrigerator. "What do you want to eat?"
"Can you make Chicken Fajitas?"
"My mom taught me from an early age how to cook. And I also took cooking lessons growing up."
"I'm not much of a cook but I can do something when there's need."
"Chicken Fajitas coming up. Do you want it spicy or mild?"
"Spicy."
Markus got busy taking out the ingredients and placing them on the counter. By the time he got everything, the counter was packed.
"Do you need any help?"
"Sure. You can help me wash and cut up these vegetables, then put them into this bowl."
Markus played music from his phone as they got busy preparing the Fajitas. He was happy he took those cooking lessons, now he had someone he wanted to cook for.
"It smells delicious." Mitchell told him, watching him stir what he had put into the pan.
"It's going to taste even better."
He wrapped six seeded tortillas in aluminum foil and placed them into the oven.
"How long will that take?"
"Just ten to fifteen minutes."
Markus turned off the stove and set the pan aside. He took a seat next to Mitchell, tapping his fingers on the countertop as he waited for the timer.
"What kind of books do you like to read?" Mitchell asked him.
"Anything that keeps my interest. What about you?"
"The same. But I haven't read any books recently."
The timer went off, so Markus got up and took the tortillas from the oven and placed them on a long platter. He filled each tortillas with the spicy chicken mixture, and add some cheese. He put the platter on the countertop, went to the refrigerator and got two cans of sodas.
He put those on the counter then went to get two plates from the cupboard. He put three chicken Fajitas on each plate, placing one in front of Mitchell along with a soda.
"Try it."
"Thanks. It looks great."
Mitchell picked up his Fajita and took a bite, and moan of delight left his mouth. It was really delicious.
"That good, huh?" Markus asked. His voice was filled unveiled amusement.
"Yes, it's very delicious."
They continued talking as they ate while music played in the background. When they were finished Mitchell helped him clean up.
"Thank you again for this. For the tour, the food."
"I'm happy you enjoyed yourself but you don't have to keep thanking me."
"My mom will say differently. She'll be thrilled that I finally have a social life and a..." Mitchell trailed off and looked away.
Markus walked up to him, turning his face towards him. "Were you going to say boyfriend?"
