They wheeled the teen inside the hospital with Taylor and Tree both trailing immediately behind. The teen was thrashing about in the bed, confused and agitated. The IV fluids and oxygen had helped her to regain consciousness but she wished they hadn't - she could feel her rapid heartbeat all over her body. Her head was thumping and the bright lights were causing shooting pains. She was curled up in a ball on the bed now, desperately trying to overcome the pains that were ripping through her stomach.
They placed Jessica into a side room, assuring her a doctor would be in imminently.
Taylor sat down next to the teen's head with Tree sitting right next to her, gripping the blonde's hand tightly.
Taylor leant over, stroking Jessica's head gently "you're ok baby, they're going to help you"
Jessica looked up at her, sweat glistening on her forehead "it really hurts Tay – make it stop!"
Taylor looked at her, tears in her eyes "I wish I could sweetheart, the doctors are going to help though. They're going to be right in"
Jessica nodded before her eyes went wide "I'm going to be sick"
Taylor quickly handed her the bowl and the girl began to retch loudly but she wasn't actually sick. Tree rubbed her knee gently, trying to offer some comfort as she cried loudly.
Taylor turned to Tree, fear etched over her face "I...I don't know what to do"
Tree pulled her in to a side hug "me neither honey but the doctor will be right in"
Jessica gagged again "can I have some water?"
Tree shook her head "wait for the doctor, see what they say"
A couple of minutes later the doctor came rushing in, greeting them all. He began taking the girls observations. Once he was finished he turned to face Taylor "her heart rate is extremely quick but her blood pressure is very low which is to be expected. What did she take?"
Taylor bit her lip, tears welling in her eyes "I don't know – I wasn't there – I don't let her keep tablets but she must have stolen them..."
The doctor turned back to Jessica "it's very important you tell us what you took"
Jessica looked at him, grimacing as another wave of pain hit her. She shook her head stubbornly "I don't remember..."
Taylor narrowed her eyes "Jessica – they can't help you if they don't know"
The teen spat back "I don't want help!"
The doctor nodded "I am sure you probably don't, but we are going to help you. It really would be in your best interests to just tell us. If we know – we can give you the right antidotes"
Jessica sighed, closing her eyes – trying to block them all out. Tree tried to reason with her "Honey, you are here whether you like it or not. We are all going to do everything we can to help you. In order to make sure you don't have to go through more than is necessary – you need to be honest with us..."
Jessica nodded, avoiding eye contact "It was just a mix...I took some antidepressants, some painkillers, some anti inflammatory meds....just whatever I could get"
The doctor frowned, notebook ready to write it down "how many did you take?"
Jessica shrugged again but Taylor squeezed her hand in frustration "this isn't the time for games. HOW MANY DID YOU TAKE?"
Jessica looked up at her, tears in her eyes "I don't know. There were 65 in total...."
Taylor gasped, Tree squeezed the blonde's hand tightly and spoke up "OK so I got about 12 out of your mouth, you probably threw 10 up earlier but nothing since...."
