The next week, Jessica was eating breakfast – still half asleep as she spooned the cereal into her mouth when Taylor cleared her throat "I've booked you an appointment for today" The blonde chewed her own cereal, trying to pretend it was no big deal. Jessica paused, putting the spoon back into the bowl – an annoyed expression on her face "jot the dentist?!"
Taylor smirked slightly "yes..."
Jessica groaned "Taylorrrrrrr"
The blonde raised her eyebrow "Jessicaaaaaaa"
The teen sighed "you KNOW I hate it..."
Taylor nodded, a laugh bubbling in her throat "I do know – and that's exactly why I didn't tell you. I knew you'd be stressing about it all night"
Jessica grumbled "I'd be stressing AND preparing...now I'm not prepared!"
Taylor shrugged "nothing to prepare for, you just lay there. You will be fine...now eat up"
Jessica finished her breakfast slowly then went and brushed her teeth – trying to delay the inevitable.
When she was in the car on the way to the appointment she was jittery and anxious – bouncing her leg up and down and biting her nails anxiously.
Taylor took her hand in hers gently "you were like this before the doctor – super anxious but that was fine wasn't it?"
Jessica nodded "it was fine except for being sent here...and this is worse! The dentist is THE worst"
Taylor chucked, shaking her head gently "you little drama queen"
As they pulled up and headed in, they were shown right back. As Jessica sat in the chair and waited for the dentist to enter the room she turned to Taylor – folding her arms across her chest and huffing "how come YOU never have to go to the dentist? Why is it always me..."
Taylor laughed, her eyes crinkling "Of course I do – you just don't come with me!"
Jessica sighed "well maybe I should. See you get tortured"
Taylor shrugged "you can come with me if you want...I don't care"
Jessica grimaced, not expecting that answer "ergh no I don't want to be here more than I have to!"
Taylor laughed loudly as the dentist entered the room and Jessica narrowed her eyes at her, signalling her to be quiet.
The dentist laid the chair down and Jessica began to anxiously pick at her nails as she was laying flat. Taylor could see the teen's anxiety rising and she rubbed her ankle gently – trying to ground the girl and remind her that she was right there beside her.
Jessica did relax slightly under her touch so Taylor kept her hand there for support.
The dentist looked between Taylor and Jessica "what's brought you in today?"
When Jessica didn't answer, Taylor spoke up "she is getting a lot of mouth ulcers – at least 1 or two a week. Initially I thought it was from her braces but it doesn't appear to be..."
The dentist nodded "ok – open up and let's see"
As he prodded around he spoke to Jessica "I can see a few here – are you biting the inside of your cheek?"
Jessica couldn't talk with his fingers in her mouth but shook her head slightly "nuh uh"
He nodded and frowned slightly "are you stressed?"
Jessica slightly "a bit"
He checked the rest of her mouth then looked at Taylor "it could be hormonal"
