Taylor was asleep when she heard her phone ringing, she rolled over – groaning as she reached the phone. The ringing stopped as she reached her arm out and she flopped back down – thinking whoever it was would call back if it was urgent. When a few seconds of silence passed she closed her eyes but shot up in bed when the phone began to buzz again.

Her eyes widened as she saw it was the treatment centre, she cleared her throat "hello?"

The voice on the other end of the line informed her that Jessica had overdosed and slashed her wrists, they explained that she had been found unconscious but alive. The paramedics had been called and she was being transferred to the hospital in a critical condition. They requested Taylor head straight to the hospital.

The blonde choked her sobs down and agreed to come immediately. Before she could register what she was doing, she called her Mum – desperate for some support. There was no answer and Taylor hung up then immediately called Tree – this time the phone rang twice and a worried voice came through "Tay – what's wrong?"

The blonde took a shuddery breath "Jessica – she...she tried to kill herself. She's at the hospital. OH GOD SHE'S GOING TO DIE!"

Tree's voice was shrill "what?! When? How?!"

When Taylor just cried in response, Tree jumped into action "I am dressed, I am coming over to you – I'll take you. Get dressed – I'll be at yours in 10 minutes max"

Taylor mumbled her thanks and quickly hung up – she shoved some comfortable clothes on, brushed her hair and headed downstairs.

She had just got her shoes on when Tree's car pulled up. Taylor would have laughed at the image of Tree zooming through the streets if it wasn't for the horrendous circumstances. Taylor climbed into Tree's car and before she even had her seatbelt on, Tree was speeding away – heading to the hospital.

Tree asked a million questions, but Taylor reiterated she had next to no information – just that she had overdosed, self harmed and was currently alive.

The two of them then sat in silence, going through every possible scenario over and over.

Soon enough, they pulled up at the hospital and rushed inside. They were quickly escorted Jessica's room. A member of the treatment centre was by her bed – Taylor glared at her "can you leave us alone?

The woman faltered, ready to explain but Tree intervened "It wasn't your fault, we know that but we just need time"

The woman nodded, reporting they would be in touch.

As soon as she was out, the doctor stepped forward and Taylor finally turned her attention to the teen. She gasped as she took in the sight. Jessica was unconscious in the bed, hooked up to a ventilator, with multiple wires and IV's connected to her. There was no sound in the room except for the rhythmic beeping of the machines.

The doctor cleared his throat "Jessica had a cardiac arrest on route to the hospital. She has been stabilised now but we will not know if there was any brain damage until she wakes up. So far – all signs are positive."

Taylor's jaw dropped, unable to process the information. Tree spoke up instead "when will she wake up? Is she sedated?"

The doctor shook his head "she is not on any sedatives. She is receiving fluids and antidotes to protect her liver. Her wounds to her arms have been stitched up. We don't know when she will wake up – that's all up to her. It's unlikely to be tonight – you can go home and we can call you in the morning?"

Taylor shook her head, ready to fight him but Tree spoke up – her voice firm "we will be staying. We want to be with her"

The doctor nodded "Well, get some rest while you can – the nurses will pop in and monitor her and we will run more tests when she wakes up. If you need us- come and get us"
