Ch. 263: Chen Corporation's Shares

At night, everything quieted down, with occasional sounds of passing cars heard from outside the hospital.

Earlier, Chen Li had already fallen asleep. Wei Chen and Chen Yunlan had been keeping vigil by Chen Li's side. Chen Yunlan was busy attending to Chen Li, while Wei Chen attempted a few times to convince him to rest, but his offers were persistently declined by Chen Yunlan.

At the moment, Wei Chen sat beside Chen Li, his gaze fixed on Chen Li's peaceful sleeping face. Chen Li had fallen into a deep slumber, his hands, which were usually placed randomly, were now gently resting on his stomach. It seemed as though this particular gesture was meant to protect the life within his belly.

Chen Yunlan gently pushed the door open and entered. After glancing at Wei Chen, as if having made a decision, he walked up to Wei's side and lightly patted his shoulder, whispering, "Come out for a moment, I need to talk to you."

Wei Chen got up, adjusting the bedcovers for Chen Li before following Chen Yunlan outside.

"This is for you." As soon as they left the room, Chen Yunlan handed Wei Chen a file. Earlier, when he had left the hospital to prepare fish soup for Chen Li, he had also arranged this document.

Wei Chen took the file, opened it, and found a share transfer document inside.

If that's the case, why should he still consider himself a part of the Chen family?

"I'll accept it for now. Tomorrow, when Li Li wakes up, I'll have him sign it," Wei Chen said as he put away the file.

Chen Yunlan looked at Wei Chen in surprise. "Actually, you can sign your own name. I believe these shares will have the greatest significance in your hands."

Wei shook his head. "This is the debt that the Chen family owes Li Li. Don't worry, whatever belongs to Li Li, I will retrieve it all."

Suddenly, Chen Yunlan felt that his previous concerns were all in vain. Even if Wei Chen wasn't a part of the Chen family, his heart was entirely devoted to Chen Li. He would do anything for Chen Li. Therefore, transferring these shares to Wei Chen was ultimately in aid of his own son.

Chen Yunlan felt reassured in that moment and began to look at Wei Chen with more respect. It was a privilege for Li Li to be with Wei.
