season four episode twelve - the kids are not alright
THROUGHOUT WINTER BREAK, CASSIE AND DAN HAD BEEN CONSTANTLY HANGING OUT. weather it was watching movies, ordering takeout from different food places, etc.
surprisingly the two had a lot in common, and got along really well.
cassie was just cleaning up her penthouse a bit while she waited for dan to come over.
"its open!" cassie shouted while she got snacks out of the pantry. "hey" dan smiled at the girl.
"hi! okay take your pick, dill pickle crisps or cheesy crackers?" cassie asked, showing him the options. "dill pickle crisps all the way and i can't stay" he frowned.
"oh right! you have your interview for the writers house" cassie said. "um actually, me and serena are gonna talk about everything, our relationship and stuff" he said and cassie tried to hide her frown."oh. well good luck." she forced a smile but doesn't know why it doesn't come naturally to her, since serena was one of her best friends and dan was someone she cared about.
"thanks cass" he gave her an awkward side hug, before leaving.
once dan left cassie paced around her penthouse, trying to collect her thoughts.
why wasn't she happy for dan and serena? serena is one of her best friends, and dan and her were good friends. she also had always liked them together but not now.
cassie had decided to stay home from the party russell thorpe was throwing since she didn't feel like going out that evening. aubrey was supposed to swing by to drop asher off for the night to spend it with ryan since the two recently started spending more time together and wanted to spend the night at the party.
"hi!" cassie ran over to her best friend to take the baby from her arms. "you look nice" cassie smiled at her friend. "thanks! serena lent me this dress for the party tonight, and speaking of the party, why aren't you going?" aubrey spun around while she spoke.
"i'm just not in the party mood" cassie lied and aubrey gave her "the" look. "cassie"
"i think i have feelings for dan" cassie blurted as she shut her eyes and aubrey gasped. "no way!" aubrey shook her friend.
"okay, i've said it now go! bye bye" cassie shoved her friend out the door.
cassie had just finished putting her nephew to sleep when she heard a knock on the door.
"dan? what are you doing here?" cassie questioned with a shocked expression.
"listen, these past few weeks have been amazing. i loved getting to know you and spending time with you. and i don't want this to be a few weeks only thing, i want to be with you. cassie, i think i have feelings for you" dan blurted.
"dan, wait what-" she started but dan cut her off by kissing her.
"crap, i am so sorry, i'm gonna go" he told the girl. "please don't. i liked it, and i like you too" cassie said and the humphrey turned back around.
"but what about serena?" cassie asked. "we stopped things, and she knows about us and shes fine with it"
"you wanna come in? asher's sleeping though so we have to be quiet. i have a few movies and dill pickle crisps" cassie opened the door wider so dan could come in.
