CASSIE WAS AWOKEN FROM HER VERY COMFY SLEEP BY MANY SPAM CALLS. "hello?" she picked up the phone. "cass hey, you free?" nate spoke on the other end. "nate? its 7 in the morning, go back to sleep" she groaned. "nice try its actually 2 pm, me and serena need your help, can you meet us?" he asked. "be there in 10, get me a coffee please"
the girl hopped into her car and headed to the cafe where nate and serena were. "heres your coffee princess" nate laughed. "thank you now whats going on?" she asked.
"so bree's cousin hosts a poker game?" serena questioned. "yeah pj buckley" nate responded. "you seriously think he'll play for carter's debt?" cassie asked. "yeah i've seen him bet thoroughbred, an island in the seychelles, the knicks" nate said. "what makes you think were gonna win nate? your not exactly a card shark" cassie stated.
"this one night at the maid stone, bree told me every one of pj's tells, so cassie will know when to call his bluff" nate added. "pardon me?" cassie raised a brow. "oh yeah your gonna be playing thats why i called you" he looked at the girl, "nate no" cassie laughed.
"cassie, pj hates me! he likes blondes though" nate told the girl, "then what about serena?!" cassie raised her voice. "cassie, your the poker goddess! all those times you and chuck snuck out with the babysitter to play poker" serena argued. "well i did win a quarter of the time" she flipped her hair back.
cassie, nate and serena made their way to pj's basement. "nate archibald! you lookin to play? well too bad i don't have a spot for you" pj said. "i'm not playing she is" he pointed to cassie who took a seat. "that is unless your afraid to play a girl" serena tilted her head. "never, lets play darling but buy in is 25,000" pj stated as nate dropped the money. "thats a lot of money" she whispered. "than don't lose" nate whispered back.
"i'll take one of the originals, make sure its strong darling" cassie told pj's friend, and nate smiled.
the two played a few practice rounds and cassie won all of them but once the actual games started she started losing. "guys! i suck!" cassie walked up to her friends. "no you don't you got this, just get him to bet carter and remember the tells" nate reassured the girl. "archibald, you wanna call it a night? i'll spot cab fare" pj said.
"we would like to buy back in, but were upping the stakes." nate said. "carter baizen" serena demanded. "oh your carter's girl?" he looked at cassie. "not in a million years, she is." cassie laughed. "yo can we get some privacy?" nate asked all the people around to leave.
"you bet carter and we will bet a photo of tripp vanderbilt at his bachelor party" nate handed him the phone. "nate this could ruin your family and tripp's election" cassie whispered again, "then don't lose, you can do this"
cassie pushed out all of her tokens into the middle. "all in" she said. "you sure you wanna play this hand for carter?" pj asked, and cassie nodded. "kings she flipped the card. "aces" pj flipped his. "a picture is worth a thousand words or an election" he said taking the phone and sending the photo to himself. "fuck" cassie whispered.
a few hours later cassie made her way to tripp's office because thats were she assumed nate would be. "hey s, is nate in there?" cassie asked, "yep" she nodded.
she knocked on the door and nate was finishing up on the phone and gestured for her to come in. "nate god i am so sorry about today" cassie apologized. "cass its okay" he told her. "no i'm serious, i am-" he silenced her by placing a finger on her lips. "cassie its fine, listen" he whispered.
"i gave pj a fake photo so once he releases it, we will call him out for lying and show the real picture" he told the girl, both unaware that serena was listening at the door.
"damn thats genius" cassie breathed. "so you aren't mad at me?" cassie asked. "no no, but i do feel bad i lied to serena" nate said.
serena who was furious at what happened left and called pj to tell him about what nate did in anger.
