"you never really cared for me, called me the wrong damn name. you had two daughters, but you killed one of them"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

CASSIE WAS JUST IN JAMES'S KITCHEN MAKING COFFEE FOR THEM TWO WHEN SHE GOT A PHONE CALL.

"hello?" cassie put the phone to her ear,  "hello, this is cassidy davis gilmore, monica davis's daughter right?" the number asked, "mhm" she mumbled in confusion.

"this is the jail, we have some things we want to talk to you about your mother before we set her sentencing, can you come in today? she would love to see you aswell."

cassie had zoned out once she heard her mother's name.

"cassidy?" the caller asked and she snapped out of it, "um yeah, i'll come by in an hour" she breathed before ending the call.

cassie walked into the room where james was with coffee's in hand. "thanks love. who knew the vanderwoodsen's were so interesting?" he said, watching the lily drama on tv. "i know right" she pressed her lips together.

"you alright?" he asked the girl and she nodded, "yeah, just exhausted and i've got some errands to run so i have to go" she headed into the washroom.

before cassidy was supposed to go to the jail she went to go meet with her twin brother first. "cassie? what are you doing here?" he asked with his son in hand. "we need to talk" she stormed into the house.

"asher, we need to teach aunt cassie manners right" he told his son and laughed, and asher nodded with a big smile. "see? he agrees" he said finally noticing his sister pacing. "okay whats going on?" he asked.

"i got a call this morning, from the jail. they want to meet with me about somethings about mom" she blurted as ryan put asher in his cot.  "what?" he asked furrowing his brows.

"why the hell do they think we would go?" he laughed as cassie avoided eye contact. "oh my god. your gonna go?" he asked, raising his voice. "cassie, your gonna talk to her? shes a murderer!" he yelled.

"maybe i'll get an answer, i don't know!" she put her hand on her head. "she's still our mom. do you wanna come?" cassie asked. "hell no, get out" he yelled.

"what is going on?" aubrey came running into the living room. "get out cassidy" he told the girl and aubrey looked at the two. "ryan-"

"i'm leaving its fine" she yelled before slamming the door.

cassidy waited in the meeting room for monica's caseworker's to come. soon 2 men and a women came in.

"hey i'm derek kincaid, the lead on the case, and this is lorelai morgan and mark ross" derek spoke as the three sat down. "nice to meet you guys" cassie smiled softly.

"as you know your mother has had 2 trial dates and was proven guilty in the second date and her sentencing date is upcoming" lorelai started, "yeah" cassie nodded along.

"the times where she was in jail, she's had a bunch of mental breakdowns, hallucinations, and episodes" mark said. "we think it would be best to put in her in a healing center" lorelai stated and cassie looked up at her. "so a psych ward?" cassie asked and they nodded.

"go for it, as long as shes out of our lives" cassie stated but lorelai opened her mouth. "well about that, we think its best for her to talk to family members every once in a while"

"so you want me to go talk to her?" cassie asked and the three nodded along. "just mention the topic briefly" derek stated and cassie got up. "come on honey, i'll lead you to her" lorelai smiled at the girl.

"she might be a bit scary but we will be watching just incase she does something. we've got you. try to not talk much about your present life until we get her set up on medication so she won't go crazy" lorelai said as cassie stood in front of the door.

cassie took a seat in front of her mother who looked different. her hair was so short and dry and was tied up in a ponytail with large uneven sections in the front. she looked so tired and worn out, almost made cassie feel bad for it.

"hi monica, its cassidy, your daughter" cassie breathed, moving to the edge of her seat. "cassidy? daughter?" she furrowed her brows. "you never really cared for me, called me the wrong damn name. you had two daughters, but you killed one of them" cassie remarked.

"i'm not a murderer" monica stated, and cassie started to tear up. "yes you are! you've ruined my life, sydney's, ryan's, dad's, charlie's, you've ruined everything!" cassie sobbed as she yelled.

she stood up and placed her hands on the table. "i said, i'm not a murderer" she yelled as she pushed cassidy backwards.

lorelai busted the door open and got cassie out while other officers grabbed monica.

"i've got to get to the photoshoot" cassie stammered as she stumbled to the washroom. the girl took some deep breaths and tried to swallow her tears.
