THE PAST FEW WEEKS CASSIE HAD BEEN JUST SO TIRED AND FELT OFF. most of the time she was sleeping, delaying work, watching gilmore girls, so basically doing nothing. this wasn't like her since cassie is usually organized and on top of things and productive.
for the past weeks nate had been adjusting to his new job so he wasn't around much to know anything about it.
chuck was doing some meditation, yoga thing and cassie couldn't stand the smell of it so she was back at her place. today she was determined to actually get stuff done. but unfortunately for her it wasn't working. she was laying awake but couldn't do anything.
a thought came into her mind. could she be pregnant? right now it was cassie's biggest fear. she's terrified of losing the baby again and going through all of that.
cassie tried to get it off her mind but it wouldn't leave.
she paced around the house trying to focus on other things but it wouldn't work.
the doorbell ended up ringing so cassie went to answer it, to see blair waldorf. "hey, i just wanted to see if you wanted to do cake tasting with me? but you look horrible, whats wrong?" blair stepped into the house and her friend backed up with her hands on her head.
"i think i might be pregnant" cassie pressed her lips together, "oh, okay. well do you know for sure?" blair asked, and cassie shook her head. "okay, um. let me check if i have a test in my bag" blair checked her purse and pulled out a rectangle box. "take this" she handed her the test and cassie walked over to the bathroom.
it had been five minutes and cassie and blair were on the opposite side of the room. "i think its ready" blair looked up at the girl. "should i go check?" cassie asked, her voice was a bit sore, and blair nodded. cassie slowly walked up to the counter and put the test on her hands.
"you can do this cass, its the best test ever, it always has accurate results" blair told the girl and cassie turned the test over and looked at it.
her heart dropped as she looked at the positive on the test. "no, no, no" cassie panicked as she sunk to the ground. "its okay its okay! you are going to be the best mom ever" blair tried to reassure her friend. "thats not the problem" cassie sniffled.
"cassie?" blair comforted, "b, i wanna be alone for a bit, can you leave?" cassie asked. "yeah, yeah of course" blair said, clutching her phone as she left.
around 10 minutes later cassie was still angry and sobbing when she heard fast knocks at the door. "i'm busy" she yelled and she heard keys jingle.
she quickly turned her back and crossed her arms. "you know you really need to hide your keys better" nate said and cassie was suprised because she could swear nate was at work. "what are you doing here?" cassie asked, her voice very obvious that she had been crying.
"blair texted me to come over, whats wrong?" he asked walking up to her. "cassie" he said turning her around. "nothing i'm fine" she said with tears in her eyes. "no your not, talk to me. please" he begged.
"i'm pregnant" she whispered. "its okay, its okay" he pulled her in for a hug. "no its not" she backed away. "its not okay! its not going to be okay" she sobbed. "why?" nate asked, trying to stay calm.
"i hate how everyone says that!" she yelled. "hey, hey. i'm always going to be right here, i'll be there every step of the way" he put his hands on her shoulders.
"no your not, your just gonna leave me like everyone does!" she argued. "cassie-" he said as she walked away.
"please leave" she crossed her arms, "i'll talk when i'm ready" she walked into her room.
nate felt frustrated and angry that he couldn't do anything but wait for her to talk.
a few hours later cassie found herself at chuck and nate's place. "cassie" chuck smiled at her. "chuck, is nate home?" cassie asked. "yes right this way" he lead her to the living room. "nathaniel, you have a visitor" chuck said and cassie pressed her lips together, locking eye contact with the archibald.
"i sense some tension so i'll get out of your hair" he said before leaving.
"hi" cassie said walking closer. "hey you" he smiled at the girl. "i'm sorry" she sat down next to him. "you have nothing to apologize for. you've been through so much with this subject and this is hard for you" he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close.
"i just want you know, that were in this together no matter what, and i'm going to stay, always" he pressed a kiss on her forehead.
