(y/n)'s POV:
"Move in with me." Kyojuro said out of the blue, making my eyes widen in surprise.
We were having a small picnic date in the park right now, talking about random stuff when all of a sudden he was like 'move in with me'.
I mean, I'm not complaining or anything like that, because my answer for his question is obvious, but where did that come from all of a sudden?
"Kyojuro-"
Before I could say anything in return, he gently took the bottle of water out of my hand so he could take my hands in his. His touch was so warm and comforting. It made my heart race with anticipation.
"Normally I wouldn't want to rush you into anything but..."
I had a feeling he had something very important to say. What that might be?
"...but there's something very bad going on right now. In the world of... you know." His tone dropped several octaves lower as he was speaking barely above a whisper, afraid of someone else hearing our conversation. So I nodded, giving him the signal I understood what he was talking about.
Demons obviously...
Then he continued. "I swear I will explain everything later, just please... move in with me so we can start packing your belongings as soon as possible."
He didn't want to rush me, but at the same time he did. It was oddly making me both happy and worried. Whatever was going on, it left an uneasy feeling in me. The same uneasiness I felt when I last spoke with Tengen in the mall when I bumped into him and his wives there.
Could these two things be connected somehow? No... That would be too much of a coincidence...
"Please, sweetheart. I swear I am not urging you. I just want you to be safe." His eyes were screaming worry. One that I have never seen before. Just what dangerous stuff did he or the others got themselves into?
I didn't question his judgement when it came to his hashira stuff. He most certainly has a very good reason to ask me this all of a sudden.
"A-alright. Just promise me you will tell me what's up."
He leaned closer to my hands he was holding between his own ones, kissing them tenderly whilst shutting his eyes for that moment before searching for any sign of uncertainity in my gaze. I didn't dare to doubt him. He always had a priority of protecting me from harm afterall.
In a world which was full of demons, it was necessary...
"I promise. Thank you." He thanked me. It was more than gratitude. He was glad that I didn't question him further yet before agreeing. I was rather putting my utter trust in him.
For the rest of our date, the topic didn't came up again. We rather enjoyed our time together, eventually going back to my apartment. After we stepped out of his car, we aimed for the building's entrance, chatting about our plans for the wedding and this whole moving together under one roof project.
"Do you want to hold a big wedding or a small one, darling?" He asked and I know fully well that whatever I will wish for, he will grant it to me.
"I-... I don't know. I don't want to spend too-"
He cut me off however. "You don't need to worry about how much it would cost, okay?"
He took my hand for the nth time today and looked deep into my eyes, stopping with walking for a short moment to speak. "It's our wedding. It's about you and me. I want you to experience whatever picture you have in your mind about it, therefore I don't care how much it will cost." He raised his free hand to my cheek, brushing his fingers on my skin. "You deserve the best, darling. And I would never forgive myself if I didn't make your dream wedding come true."
