Lorenzos Pov
The Great Hall was abuzz with chatter as we sat down for dinner, the aroma of food filling the air and our stomachs growling in anticipation. I looked down the long line of tables, searching for Y/n. Hoping she would show up.
She has been missing for a month now, and I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in my gut. Every day, I asked Mattheo where she was and every day, he gave me the same non-answer. "She's doing something," he'd say, a hint of dishonesty in his voice as he looked down.
I turned to him now, my patience wearing thin. "Mattheo, where is Y/n?" I asked, glaring at him from the other end of our table.
"I-uh," he stammered, looking down at the letter Y/n had written to me. I hold onto it every single day. She had broken up with me before she disappeared, but I refused to accept it. I still loved her and wanted her back. I need to know where she is. At least just to make sure she is okay.
"Matty, where is she? Is she okay?" Pansy chimed in, her concern evident in her voice.
"Where is Y/n? Don't make me ask again," I said, my tone serious.
Before Mattheo could answer, the doors to the Great Hall slammed open, causing all of us to turn and see who had entered. It was Y/n, wearing a long black dress and looking around the room with her e/c eyes. But what caught my attention was the bruise on her cheek and arms. She grabbed a roll from the Slytherin table before her gaze landed on me, and without hesitation, she turned and walked out of the Great Hall.
All of our friends ran after her, each going in a different direction in hopes of finding her. Theodore and I went together, following her down the hallway towards the Slytherin Common Room.
"Fire!" I yelled, hoping she would stop.
She turned her head slightly. She lifted up her dress taking off as she fumbled taking off her heels. I ran after her before grabbing her wrist pulling her to stop. She tried to pull her arm back.
I refused to let go of her hand, pulling her closer to me. She tried to resist, but I held on tight.
"Let me go," she mumbled again, her voice barely audible.
"What happened to you?" Theodore asked, concern etched on his face as he looked at Y/n's bruised skin.
Y/n finally met my eyes, and I could see the pain and sadness in them. But before she could answer, Daphne appeared behind us, panting from running after Y/n.
"What's going on? Why did you run off like that?" Daphne asked breathlessly with Tracey beside her
"We were just trying to find out where Y/n has been," Theodore explained, eying Daphne for any sign of recognition or understanding.
Tracey eyes widened in realization as she took in Y/n's appearance. "Oh my Merlin, what happened to you?" She exclaimed, her hand reaching out to touch one of the bruises on Y/n's arm.
"Don't!" Y/n flinched away from Daphne's touch and took a step back from all of us. "Just leave me alone."
I felt a surge of anger at whoever had hurt her like this. "Not by a long shot. I love you Y/n. Where have you been?" I demanded, my grip on her hand tightening.
Y/n shook her head, tears brimming in her eyes but not falling. "Leave me be Berkshire," she said softly before wrenching her hand out of my grasp.
Before any of us could say anything else, she turned and ran off towards the Slytherin Common Room with her heels in hand. All three of us watched as she disappeared inside before turning to each other with worried expressions.
