Part 41: He's mine

"Have you done anything about that Kirei yet?" Shin asked from outside the window.

"Oh... Well, we did plan on it... But... Other things happened... and we haven't got the chance to investigate her," I answered nervously, letting my voice out through a small opening of the window.

"What do you mean, 'other things'? How busy were you two?" He moved his face closer. "Also, open the window and let me in!"

"Sorry, Haise said I couldn't let any strangers in at the moment," I looked away, thinking of the reason.

Yeap, cause I'm pantiless inside my skirt right now. Due to the 'other things' that we did.

Shin narrowed his eyes, "I don't understand you guys."

"Just wait for him right there," I avoided his stare, "Classes are almost dismissed."

They made an appointment after school to discuss about why Shin suddenly revealed himself to us.

"Hey, Shinchan," I asked him, "Why don't you just tell me why you're here? Am I in danger?"

He didn't say anything.

"If you tell Haise, he'll tell me in the end. Why make it so complicated..."

"There are rules that us shinigami -or guardian spirits in my case- must respect," he replied. "What your boyfriend will do with the information afterwards is his decision."

"You just want to be alone with him," I tried to tone down the seriousness. Plus, it's still cute how he had a man crush on Haise. Physique-wise, Shin was taller and looked more mature. But Haise would definitely dominate over him. Ugh. So sexy.

"No, I already figured it out," Shin said calmly. "It's because I'm tied to you spiritually, so our emotions were somehow connected. It means that your feelings towards others may influence mine too."

"Ew, don't make things up please," I acted disgusted, then continued picking on him. "You just want his D, admit it."

"D?" Shin looked confused. Apparently he's not used to modern slang. "Is that his middle name?"

"........... (-__-") Yes, Shinigami-kun, that's his middle name. Like in 'Monkey D. Luffy'," I gave up.

"Who?" He's even more puzzled. This guy didn't know squat about manga or anime.

"You and I cannot be friends," I closed the window and shut the curtains.

I turned around at the moment Haise entered the room.

"Where's that shinigami?" He asked after giving me a peck on my cheek.

I slid the curtains open, revealing a grown man crouching on the ground just outside, seemingly crying.

"I think you're a little mean to him," Haise laughed. "Just a little."

"Are you guys going to talk at the roof?" I asked Haise. I wasn't allowed in the conversation so they had to go somewhere else.

"Darling, it's not a shoujo manga love confession."

Haise knows to reference my otaku stuff now. This is why I date this boy. And his bods, obviously.

We were about to open the window and talked to Shin, but stopped because someone barged into the infirmary.

Kirei. Who else.

"Alright, I've had enough," she came in and slammed the door shut. "If playing good doesn't work, I'll use my ace."
