To be honest I would have expected to see faces like Allen Walker and friends or Rin and Yukio or even Father Amon when we got into Haise's house. I was pretty sure Ken would be exorcised for this last thing he pulled on my boyfriend. Stealing his body when he's asleep. What the actual duck.
However, the house was empty. At least how it looked to me.
"Where is Haise? Is he alright?" I asked Ken. Worried.
"He's just standing in front of me emitting murderous intent."
I couldn't see anything in front of him. And because I was a humble commonfolk, I couldn't feel any murderous intent either.
"I think you should give him back his body now, Ken."
The boy sighed and closed his eyes. One second later Haise's body was limping to the ground; luckily I was fast enough to catch it and used my weight as a support.
Soon he opened his eyes and stood on his own. His angry face was so scary!
"Haise... Are you okay?" I tugged at his sleeve, cautious not to touch him just in case that would annoy him.
He turned to look at me. To my greatest relief, the dangerous glow in his eyes had turned soft. "Don't be afraid, you didn't do anything wrong," he planted a kiss on my cheek. "But I really need to go now."
"W-where? Why?"
Haise walked to the door, "Gin-san needs me, he left a message on the phone machine earlier."
But when he opened the door, someone with silver hair slumped into his arms. "Thank God you're home," Gin gave Haise a weak grin. We noticed that his black shirt was torn here and there, he's clutching his stomach and...
"You're bleeding!" I shrieked. "We should get you to the hospital!"
"No," Gin refused. "They'll find me there. And it's not wise to fight at such place."
"I'll explain to you later," Haise said while he laid the taller man on his couch and began undressing him to expose the wounds. I ran to grab the first aid kit. But I knew it's not going to be enough. Gin-san had several deep cuts all over his body. As Haise and I applied pressure to reduce the blood loss, I called Mii.
"I'm not at the hospital right now but don't worry, I'll send someone there. Text me your address and tell me what you need," Mii tried to calm me down.
"Anesthetics and suturing equipments please, thanks Mii-chan."
"Good thing I know how to avoid kagune attacks on my vital organs, heh," Gin said weakly. "Thanks for teaching me, Haise."
"Kagune attacks?? What in the world has happened??" I turned to Haise for explanations.
"Remember the time when our school was invaded because someone targetted the chairman? Well... here's the chairman," Haise gestured his hand to present Gin-san.
"Hi, I'm the chairman," Gin lifted his hand, trembling, to make a peace sign with his fingers. Still trembling. His lips were shaky too as he smirked.
"Oh my God, stop trying to be funny in this situation!" I remarked. "Also, WHAT? So, you're like, the owner of the school?"
"Yeah, that too," he now made a 'Sailor Moon' pose with both his hands. Still trembling. Some blood spluttered from the cut on his arm.
"I'm done talking to you," I tried to prevent more idiotic movements and told Gin to just stay there in silence pretending to be an inanimate object.
"I'll tell the story," Haise chuckled a little, despite his worried expression. "Gin-san once made a mafia leader angry because he took down their casino by... winning too much."
"I was totally cheating," Gin laughed. "But they deserved it."
"They did something very awful, but that's Gin-san's personal issue. Anyway, our chairman here used all the money to run a school and here we are."
"So basically our school is built on sin." I concluded.
"Basically," Haise nodded. "It seems like they finally tracked us down and now want a real revenge. They hired ghouls to attack Gin-san. He called me earlier for help but because I was in that state, I couldn't answer."
This explained why Haise was so furious at Ken for taking his body at the worst time possible. If only Haise went to Gin's aid, the man might not have been this injured.
"Don't worry, like I said, I'm not in any danger," Gin smiled. "I took down both the ghouls they sent, you know."
And escaped only with several deep cuts? "How freaking strong are you??"
"Gin-san is stronger than me," Haise crossed his arm proudly.
"Yeah but not when you're in crazy mode," Gin turned to my direction and whispered, "He has tentacles."
"Yes, I am aware." I wanted to add more sarcastic comments but the bell rang. This must've been the help that Mii sent.
Haise opened the door to find a familiar face.
"Akashi-san," my boyfriend greeted. "Thank you for coming to help us."
"No worries," Akashi Sei smiled a little. He then settled before Gin to examine the wounds.
"Ah, I've cleaned and bandaged them, but the deeper cuts need to be sutured," I said as I pointed the ones needed attention.
"I see." He thanked me and started the job very elegantly; I couldn't help being amazed. I watched him work, trying to study the process.
The door bell rang again. Who could it be this time?
Haise went to answer and we were startled by the presence of Kirei-sensei - even more shocked when her eyes turned red on black. The realization that she's a ghoul hadn't dawn long before a huge pinkish blade formed from her shoulder and she tried to stab Haise with it.
Haise managed to dodge that attack, but hurting his arm in the process. He shouted my name and ordered, "Call Shin!"
"I am already here," my guardian spirit formed himself out of thin air next to me. "I'll keep these guys safe. Don't mind us and concentrate on beating her," Shin told Haise.
"Okay that was impressive," Gin commented on Shin's appearance. "And that was shocking," he pointed at Kirei being a ghoul, who was probably a spy from his enemies, now fighting Haise, "but what amazes me most is this guy," Gin pointed at Akashi Sei. "Look at him, he's still sewing my skin calmly, completely unfazed by all these weird stuff happening around us."
"I am a little offended," Shin played along with Gin.
"Yeah, this guy must have seen some shit," Gin replied, still fixing his eyes on Sei-chan.
"I am merely being a professional," the red-haired guy tied up a knot on the now fully sutured wound on Gin's stomach. "Let me see the cut on your left arm."
"Excuse me. Am I the only one who's worried about Haise right now?" I retorted as I watched Kirei almost slashed his leg.
"Yeah," the three of them replied in an ensemble. Add Ken to it as well.
"Shin, not you too?! I thought you love him!" I slapped his back.
"What, I know he's way stronger than her."
Oh, that explains. Blind admiration to your idol, huh. That's so cute Shin (*ノ∀'*)
