Part 61: By the koi pond

I took a quick shower to wash away the lingering onsen smell. When I got out, I saw Haise warming himself up in the kotatsu. As usual, he had a book to accompany him pass time. This meant he's also wearing his reading glasses.

Haise with nothing but glasses and a bathrobe. Mmm.

He glanced up to me and kept staring pensively as I walked towards him.

"What's the matter?" I asked with a smile, settling to sit next to him. "You look a bit lost. Is everything alright?"

He shook his head very slightly, his lips curving up. "I still can't believe I have you."

I caressed his cheek a little before tilting my head and planting a soft kiss on his lips.

"I love you," we spoke almost together, then giggled because it sounded more comical than romantic thanks to our awkward selves.

"I still smell like the pool," Haise brushed my hair with his fingers. "Will you wait a little bit when I shower? I wanted to take you to a nice dinner and maybe some walk in the garden afterwards."

"Of course," I nuzzled at his hand. "But I'm still full from the bento at the train earlier. Maybe we'll get me some ice cream and then go feed the koi fish?"

"That sounds nice," he smiled and got up, "I won't be long."

I watched him preparing his clothes and getting in the shower room. It's a sight I wouldn't mind watching every day.

Ah I'm getting into the soft feelings... such fluff ♡

While Haise was in the shower, I changed into the new dress I bought just for this weekend. I also brought a set of light kimono, in case we'd attend the local festival the next day. I wanted to feel pretty; it's our first trip together as a couple after all!

"You look very pretty," Haise complimented me as soon as he got off the shower.

"Thank you, you make me very happy," I went to give his cheek a smooch. "Ah, you smell nice."

"I.... actually forgot to bring my body shampoo, so I used yours," he admitted with a shy smile.

Too cute!!!

There's a little cafe next to the hot spring resort, and it's just about to close when we got there. Still, I successfully purchased a triple-scoop ice cream in crispy waffle cone.

"I really like watching you eat," Haise said, "It's nice to see you enjoy it."

"Hehe," I grinned at him, then focusing back to my coffee flavored frozen treat.

"You got some just here," he gestured to the edge of my lips. While I was processing what he meant, his fingers were quick to reach my face. With his thumb, he wiped the ice cream off my lips. Then, without thinking, he licked it off his finger.

This, obviously, would taste bad for him. And alas, he was coughing a little.

I was laughing, "You doofus, why would you lick that!"

"I was trying to be romantic like in those drama series," he laughed too. "Wasn't that cool, though? Did your heart race a little?"

"Yes for all kinds of reasons," I pulled his cheek, still giggling. Gotta admit, what he did was kind of dreamy.

We walked towards the garden with a fish pond. I still remembered the pathway to those koi fish quite well.

"Ah! We forgot to buy the fish pellets!" I suddenly remembered.
