Five People Date?
Calli had tried.
More than once.
To catch Harry Potter between meals, between classes, anywhere, really.
But he was impossible to pin down.
In the Great Hall, he ate quickly, if at all and disappeared before anyone could reach him.
It was like he was avoiding the entire school.
And maybe he was. She wouldn't blame him if he was.
One morning, Calli spotted him just as he stood from the Gryffindor table, already heading for the doors.
Stella folded the newspaper she'd been reading with a sharp, irritated movement.
"What a load of rubbish." She muttered.
Calli glanced down.
The headline alone was enough.
An article by Rita Skeeter.
Of course.
All lies.
Calli didn't think twice.
She stood abruptly.
"I'll be back."
Then she was moving quickly out of the Great Hall.
"Harry!"
He didn't stop.
"Harry!"
He replied sharply without glancing back, clearly fed up.
"Yes!" He snapped, not even looking properly at her. "I am going to find a quiet place to cry about my dead mum!"
"Harry, it's Calli."
He froze.
Actually froze.
Then turned.
His face went red almost instantly.
"Oh!" He ran a hand through his hair, clearly embarrassed. "Calli, hi."
Calli slowed as she reached him.
"I've been trying to speak to you." She said gently.
Harry looked like he didn't quite know where to look.
"I know you didn't put your name in."
That made him look up.
Properly.
Surprised.
Calli held his gaze, steady.
"Oh, please." She added, softer now. "I can see how miserable you look."
She stopped.
Winced.
"Sorry. That came out wrong."
