Do the Hippogriff

"Dress." Fred said. It sounded like he was choking on the word.

Calli blinked.

"Pretty."

Lucy snorted beside her.

"Well." She said, clearly delighted. "Apparently you've made Fred revert back to a caveman."

Calli huffed a quiet laugh.

Fred dragged a hand through his hair, like he was trying to reboot his brain.

"Not helpful." He muttered.

Stella stepped in smoothly, already scanning the room.

"I'll find my date and join you guys in a bit." She said giving them a small smile and slipped away toward the Beauxbatons boy waiting for her.

"Nice of you to show up." George said, hitting Lucy's shoulder with his.

"Nice of you to comb your hair." Lucy shot back.

They grinned.

Fell into step easily.

Fred looked back at Calli.

Tried again.

"Wow, you look..." He stopped, trying to think of the word he was looking for.

Then leaned in, just slightly, voice dropping so only she could hear.

"I want to say ravishing."

Calli's breath caught. A faint blush rose to her cheeks, matching the deep shade of her lipstick.

"You're not too bad yourself, Fred." She replied, softer now.

He grinned at that.

The great oak doors opened.

Durmstrang students entered in formation, Karkaroff leading them in.

At the front, Krum and beside him, Hermione.

Hermione looked elegant, poised, her periwinkle blue dress flowing as she walked.

Calli just smiled.

Soft.

Proud.

Lucy leaned slightly toward her.

"That's our work." She whispered.

Hermione caught her eye.

Calli gave her a small, approving nod.

Hermione beamed.

Before they could say more,

"Champions, this way please!"

Professor McGonagall's voice cut through the hall.
