Accio!
The library was exceptionally quiet that Sunday.
Calli sat between Stella and Lucy, her voice barely above a whisper as she recounted the night before, her hands moving slightly as if she could recreate the dragons through sheer enthusiasm.
"...and the Horntail." She murmured, eyes wide all over again. "It was massive, Stella, you don't understand-"
"I understand perfectly." Stella cut in, flipping a page in her book with calm demeanor. "I understand that someone is going to die in this task."
Lucy leaned forward, equally quiet but far more animated.
"No, no, wait. The red one, what did Charlie call it?"
"Chinese Fireball." Calli whispered.
Lucy grinned.
"That sounds brilliant."
"Poor Harry." Stella muttered, shaking her head slightly.
Calli nodded.
Lucy winced.
"Yeah." She whispered. "Poor everyone, honestly."
They fell into a brief, thoughtful silence.
Monday came too quickly.
Calli was on her way to the Prefects' Bathroom during her free period, grateful for the rare bit of time to herself. She almost never used it properly, usually opting for quick showers in the Slytherin dorms but today she fully intended to take advantage of it.
Until,
Clatter.
A loud crash echoed from one of the nearby classrooms.
Calli stopped.
Brows furrowing.
"Concentrate, Harry, concentrate!"
Hermione's voice.
Calli frowned and pushed the door open only to immediately duck as a chair went flying toward her head.
"Merlin!"
The chair slammed into the wall behind her.
"Calli!" They both exclaimed.
She straightened slowly, brushing a strand of hair out of her face, completely unfazed despite how close that had been.
"What..." She said calmly, glancing around the room, "are you two doing?"
The classroom was a disaster.
Desks overturned. Books scattered. A few objects still twitching slightly like they'd only just stopped moving.
Harry looked embarrassed.
Very embarrassed.
He glanced at Hermione, clearly hoping she'd explain.
Hermione, on the other hand, looked thrilled that Calli was there.
"Actually." She said brightly. "We could use your help."
Calli raised a brow.
"Could you now?"
"Harry needs to master the Summoning Charm by tomorrow."
Calli blinked.
Surprised.
Then her expression shifted, something more thoughtful, more calculating.
