"Lee's probably already started a card game without us." George announced, stretching as he stood.

"And if he hasn't," Fred added, looking at his twin, "we'll fix that."

Fred leaned down, stealing one last quick kiss from Calli before she could protest.

"I'll be back."

"I know."

He lingered for half a second anyway.

George cleared his throat loudly.

"Honestly."

Fred sighed dramatically.

"I shall miss you."

George rolled his eyes and pulled Fred away, the twins disappearing down the corridor, bickering over something.

The compartment grew noticeably quieter.

"So." Lucy spoke up with a grin.

Calli looked up innocently.

"So?"

Lucy folded her arms.

"You told him you loved him."

Calli blinked.

"Yes."

"And?"

"And what?"

Lucy looked scandalized.

"That's it? That's all we're getting?"

Stella smiled into the book she hadn't actually started reading.

"I was expecting at least a little swooning."

"I don't swoon."

Lucy snorted.

"You were smiling at the compartment door for a solid minute after he left."

"I was not."

"You absolutely were."

"I wasn't."

"You've gone red."

Calli instinctively touched her cheeks.

Lucy burst into triumphant laughter.

Even Stella laughed quietly.

Calli hid her face in her hands for a second.

"I've missed neither of you."

"That was a lie." Lucy replied immediately.

"A terrible one." Stella agreed.

The laughter slowly died down, settling into the comfortable silence only close friends could share.

Lucy was the first to break it.

"I have talked enough about my summer." Calli spoke up.

Lucy tucked one leg beneath herself on the seat.

"So now we're talking."

Calli smiled.

"Tell me everything."

"We intend to."

Lucy leaned back.

"I spent most of the summer in Wales with Gran."

"How is she?" Calli asked.

"Still terrifying."

Stella snorted.

Lucy grinned.

"She made me weed the entire garden because apparently 'magic makes you lazy.'"

"Sounds like your grandmother."
