"Don't be stingy, Fred."
Calli glanced up as Stella leaned out of the compartment, a rare hint of amusement in her expression.
"Yeah." Lucy added, appearing right beside her, eyes bright. "We all missed Calli. You don't see us snogging her face off."
"Yeah?" Fred Weasley said, already steering Calli toward them, his arm still firmly around her. "But I love her."
Calli's cheeks flushed deeper, though the smile didn't leave her face.
"You've no idea what my summer was like with this git." George muttered behind them, arms full somehow with both his things and everything Fred had dropped earlier.
They stepped into the compartment just as the train gave a soft lurch, the whistle sounding as it began to move.
"Perfect timing." Lucy said, dropping back onto the seat.
"Oh, I need to go." Calli said suddenly, the reality of it catching up to her.
Fred didn't move.
Not even slightly.
Calli tried to slip out from under his arm.
It didn't work.
She lowered it.
His other arm immediately wrapped around her instead.
Calli blinked.
"Fred."
"Aww, Calli." Lucy grinned. "You've got your own human sized leech."
Laughter broke out around them.
Calli let out a quiet sigh, though she was smiling. "Fred."
"Yes, love?" He asked, entirely unbothered.
"I have Head Girl duties." She said, giving him a pointed look. "I'll be back in fifteen minutes."
He held her for a second longer.
Then, finally, he relented.
Sort of.
Fred leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to her lips before letting go, only to dramatically collapse backward onto the seat.
"I shall do my best to survive."
Calli laughed, shaking her head as she turned toward the door.
"Idiot." Stella said flatly behind her.
Calli didn't turn back but her smile stayed.
Calli slipped into the prefects' carriage and immediately clocked that she was the last one there.
"Perfect, we can start now." Pierce clapped his hands, entirely unfazed, his enthusiasm still going strong.
Calli took her place beside him, expression composed, gaze already moving over the group.
"I'm Pierce, and this is Calli. We're your Head Boy and Girl." He announced.
Calli inclined her head slightly. She didn't mind letting him take the lead.
Her attention shifted instead.
Assessing.
Measuring.
New prefects, familiar faces, some expected, some rather questionable.
Pansy Parkinson caught her eye first, and Calli had to resist the urge to raise a brow. That choice made little sense.
