Another moment of madness

We didn't leave the hunters cabin until the storm had passed, unfortunately the rain hadn't held off but I was okay with that.

I sighed with relief at the sight of the lodge. "Nearly there." Zak spoke putting his hand on my back and giving me a little push to carry on.

"Aaron!" Bacon yelled as he saw me.

Aaron flew out the door and took my appearance in before panicking. As he fussed he saw my forehead.

"What have you done to her?!" He snapped at Zak.

"Woah. Bro she fell. I found her. We have been at the hunters cabin. About 5 miles straight through." Zak answered.

"He's right Aaron. Gracie ran away from me." I replied.

Hearing her name she came into view and well with tiredness and worry the only thing I had left to do was burst into tears.

"You stupidly clever dog!" I cried hugging her.

"Ri, let's get you in. You're gonna be ill." Aaron said picking me up off the ground and helping me indoors.

"I need to bath her. Sh- don't let her go." I called back to the crew as Aaron pulled off my shoes and marched me upstairs.

"Take a shower. Don't have a bath incase you fall asleep and go under."

I nodded too tired to even reply, I had a shower.. Well I sat in the shower making minimal effort. After I felt clean and my hair has stopped producing twigs and clumps of mud I got out and wrapped myself up in a towel.

With my dirty clothes I left bathroom and went into my room. There were a pair of basketball shorts and Aaron's top on the bed. Shrugging I put on some underwear and changed into them before leaving my hair down to dry naturally.

I followed the noise of laughing and found Zak in shorts without his top in the bath with Gracie, he was sat on the edge whilst showering her off. He'd had time to style her in a Mohawk.

"Hey." He smiled seeing me.

"Hey. Is she okay?" I asked stepping in.

"Yep. Perfect and is going to smell of baby powder apparently or at least that's what it says on the bottle." He shrugged.

"Ria!" Aaron called making me leave Gracie and Zak to I find him.

He was stood in my room with a tray of food. He'd got me cream of tomato soup with croutons.

"You remembered." I smiled picking up a crouton and eating it.

"Yep. Get in." He gestured to the bed giving me a chance to slip in and get comfortable.

I had it placed on my lap making me smile.

"Fresh roll as well. Eat up and try and stay in bed, you've got a red button nose so there's a chance someone is in for a cold."

"Go me huh?" I asked.

"Well sleep and rest will help." He replied giving my head a kiss before leaving.

"Hey thanks for the clothes." I called after him.

"Only the top is mine!" He answered making me stop mid chew of the roll.
