Chapter 1

June 21st

"Eww no. Next one please", Ali made a disgusted face.

"Cmon Ali, your supposed to be helping me not talking on the phone and making a disgusted face on every dress that I try on" I rolled my eyes and looked in the mirror.

We were at the mall looking at dresses for graduation in a couple of days. We're graduating!!! Time has flown so fast and we're finally getting out of school and off to college. Anyway, that's my friend Ali. She's 19, like me, and she's been my best friend since 1st grade. We've lived next to each other for a really long time and our parents are really close. The only difference between us is that she's the only child and I'm not, also she likes to shop and I like to play sports. I have two other siblings. Of course, it doesn't bother her anymore when she comes over my house to help me babysit while our parents have double date night. One thing I'll always remember about her is that she'll always and I mean always have more then me. And that's not a problem, both of our parents have good careers and alot of money. It's just when it comes to Ali, she needs more then she can bargain for.

That's what I love about her though. No matter how mad she gets or how much stuff she has, she'll always have my back. Just not at the moment....

"Baby I told you we're wearing the same color" Ali demands.

Oh she's not talking to me, she's on the phone with her boyfriend Jason. He was know as the high school sweetheart because alot of girls would fall for him but he only had eyes for one girl and that was Ali-Anne Tucker. Although I don't think it counts because she was also popular, but hey if she's happy that's all that matters to me.

"What's wrong?" I asked her, "Jay doesn't wanna wear my favorite color, he thinks it would be embarrassing" she explains.

"Ali give the guy a break, this isn't prom and he's a boy. I would be embarrassed to wear purple too" I tell her smiling, she rolls her eyes, "fine, wear black but that's it no other color okay?..alright, I love you bye" she hangs up the phone and looks at me.
"What do you think", I say holding up a black long in the front short in the back with blue stripless dress that also has cut shoulders against my body.

"Mm. It's cute but not something I can see you wearing" she says.

"Thanks for being honest with me, let's go. There's nothing in here and there's plenty of other stores to try", I say biting my lips and turning around to grab Ali's hand so we can leave. We walk out of the store and get on the escalator to the next floor up, seeing if we can find a store with nice dresses in it.

"Oh my gosh Kat look! 60% off in Victoria Secrets, we have to go!" She yells, I look over and the line is all the way out of the store. "Seriously, look at the line" I laugh, "Cmon Kat please, its 60% off" she pouts. I swear she's gonna be the death of me one day.

"Ugh, fine but I'm staying out here" I groan. "Yay, okay I'll be a couple of minutes" she hugs me and runs in the store leaving me outside by myself. I look around to see if I can find any other store that sells clothes and I pick the closest one called Rainbow. I go in to see if I can find some shoes and some jewelry because every girl likes to shop in this store and I know I won't find the perfect dress.

After I'm done purchasing some silver bracelets and necklaces and a pair of black heels with little silver spikes in the front, I go see if Ali is done shopping in Secrets. Luckily, she's walking out of the store the same time I am.
"Katty girl, I brought you some stuff and it's super cute" she winked at me. We started to walk.

"No Ali. Please, you know I don't like showing my skin" I blush covering my face. She's always tryna get me to buy things like see through bras and panties or thongs but it's not my type and no one's seeing under my clothes. Yeah I'm still a virgin but Ali isn't. She lost her virginity to Jason a couple years ago. Doesn't bother me, I plan to stay a virgin until I find the right one.

"Pa-lease Kat even though your a virgin doesn't mean your innocent" she tells me. We continue walking and looking around, "Not now Ali, we need to find something to wear to-"
"Oh my fucking god". I turn to look at Ali who's gawking at something and smiling. "What?" I turn my head and see this beautiful silver and black dress. There are silver gemstones at the top around the cup part and the rest of the dress is black.

"Wow, that's really beautiful" I say.

"Yeah and we're getting it for you", Ali pulls my arm and rushes into the store.
"You know how much that dress probably cost" I try to explain to her. When you see a dress in the window, you know it costs alot." So, we have tons of money, that dress would look so nice on you and plus it matches with the things you brought from Rainbow" she tells me.

"Yeah that's true....but I don't like the way my body looks in tight dresses" I bite my lips, which is something I do alot when I'm nervous.
"Your gonna look great, trust me. All eyes will be on you for graduation" she smiles.

"I don't think I want that" I laugh, as she pulls me into the store so we can buy the dress.

After that, I help her look for a cute purple dress that she tells me to take a picture of so she can send to Jason. Then we leave the mall and drive around a little to see if we can find a nail salon to get our nails done.

While she drives, I take out my checklist to see if we have everything we need for the big day and Ali tells me she has everything else that she needs like jewelry and shoes already at her house and when the day comes she wants me to walk to her house which is right next door from mine so we can meet up.

"So remind me again, when was the last time you dated someone?" she asks me, we finally found a nail salon a couple blocks from the mall and we were sitting next to each other getting a pedicure. "It was Junior year and it was with Tyler. The senior who was in our chemistry class"

"Oh yeah, him. He was kinda cute but not someone you could go on a date with and take home that same night to fu-"

"Oh gosh Ali, stop. I'm not losing my virginity until it's the perfect time okay?" I laugh, waiting for her response

"Okay fine but those underwear I brought from Victoria Secrets for you are too cute to just sit in the bag all summer and winter waiting to be worn. You'll find someone", she says playfully bumping my shoulder "maybe in college".

" Yeah....maybe".
