I removed the small bathing suit cover up I was wearing before sitting down in the lounge chair near the pool. The sun was out and it was super hot today, the light from it reflected off the pools crystal clear blue water and I smiled as the light hit my skin and the sounds of the water hit my ears.

What better way to enjoy the last day here then to just relax by the pool in my backyard. I didn't know where Mom or Dad was and Kevin and Macy had been upstairs changing into something more comfortable to go swimming in. I let out a breath before I pushed the sun glasses up on my face and layed back in the chair, I grabbed the book I had been reading for a while now before coming out here.

This morning had been great, being able to wake from a good sleep and not having to do a thing but sit outside by the pool. Tomorrow, I was to be up early enough to take all the things I'd bring to the dorm before everyone else had begun to settle in.

My ears had picked up Kevin's yelling as he rushed down the stairs through the living room and through the kitchen to the back door. I smiled as he pushed the back door open and just like he always does, he runs out and runs toward the pool. I close my book and put it behind my back just he cannonballs into the deep end, I laugh and wait for him to come up. He looks over at me and start laughing.

"Did I get you this time?" He chuckles.

"No, but nice jump" he give him a thumbs up before grabbing my book again, shaking my head and continuing to read.

"Thanks" he says before he swims away from me to the other end of the pool.

The sun feels as though its directly over top of us and I wonder if I should've stolen one of Mom's hats to wear but then I wouldn't get the perfect tan. I bring my hand up to sheild my eyes and I hear distance talking coming closer until two figures emerge from the side of the house. Ali holds Macy's hand, they must've came in from the side gate and my book falls before my head hits the back of the seat.

"Yeah, I told her that" I squint up at my sister, for once she's taller than me since I'm sitting in this seat. They both look down at me.

"Hey Kat" Ali smiles and I return one to her.

I look at Macy and her face brightens before she finally let's go of Ali's hand and runs to jump in the pool. Ali laughs at her before she comes up for air.

"What's up?" I remove the glasses from my face so I can really look at her. I pick up the book and she gets comfortable in the chair next to me, laying back and soaking up the sun.

"You know tomorrow we head back for the last week" she tells, the sun beaming down on us makes it hard to hear for a minute.

"Yup, you ready?" I asked her.

"I was born ready" I can hear the hint of smile in her soft tone.

I snort, "really?"

"Yeah, Jason says he's not but I am" she says and for a minute I wait for her to finish but she doesn't.

"What do you mean he's not? And how are you ready when you were having trouble with the work before?" I question, laying my book on my lap.

"Well, I have done some research and I feel confident for next semester that's one. And two, he says he's scared they'll leave us with a strong cliffhanger that will have us stressing and all that shit over the summer, you know? Like they'll give us work or something"

"Um okay, tell him they wouldn't do that" I chuckle and she does the same.

"Yeah I tried that, he was literally red in the face" she laughs harder and I shake my head.
