"Wakey wakey Vi!" I open the curtains and look out the window. The sun shines through the glass and heats my skin but I don't move, I just smile. It was my turn to wake her up this way just like she did me last time. I chuckle to myself thinking about it.
"What's funny?" I turn to her and she sits up and leans back on her palms. Her long black curly hair all over her face.
"Nothing, now let's get up so we can all go enjoy these last hours before leaving to go home" I tell her, "I've already texted everyone to meet us downstairs"
"Your in a good mood" she says and I smile before heading over to my bed.
I can feel her eyes on me still when she climbs to the edge of her bed and stands, walking over to me.
"Where did you go last night befor you came back to the party?" She asks me. She fixes her muffled hair by running her fingers gently through it.
I look up at her. I should tell her the truth, it's what she deserves. Plus, how bad could it be now.
"I went to..a secret place that I will not explain where it is so don't ask" I open my draw to grab some clothes.
She just stands there until, "a secret spot?"
She walks back over to her side and starts rummaging through her bags.
"Yupper" I say, grabbing my things and heading to the bathroom.
She turns to me, "and might I ask who else knows about this secret spot beside you? Is it your secret spot or someone elses?" She lowers her eyes at me and I smile.
"I mean, I'm pretty sure you could figure that out on your own but for right now..we get dressed and eat and spend a little time with our friends until we leave for two weeks" I explain before heading into the bathroom.
"You know your not alone at home, Ali lives next door" she yells and her voice comes through the wall.
"Doesn't matter" I shake my head and laugh.
After we both quickly gotten dressed, I grabbed my phone and we headed out the door. We talked as we headed downstairs, everyone was out and about just like yesterday. Today seemed more busy, poeple crowded around each other talking and some talked to professors while others gave hugs and left outside to their cars so they could return home. The cafe was packed also and I don't think I've seen this many poeple since parent visit day or the project graduation event.
"Kat I'm serious, I am going to miss you guys even though its only two weeks. And imagine after the break, we come back for a week and leave again...like forever" Violet fidgets at my side, she rubs her hands up and down her arms.
I turn away from everyone else to look at her, "what? It's not forever Vi, it's not like we won't see each other the following semester"
"Next" the guy behind the counter says and we order our drinks and a bagel.
"Besides, we don't even live that far from each other. We can plan a summer vacay and be on our way, I'll even pay for you if you want" I smile, lifting my eyebrows at her.
She laughs, "yeah maybe your right"
I nod and we grab our things before heading toward the door that lead to outside. Our table was empty of course but as soon as we made our way toward it, someone else joined us as we set out things down.
"Hey guys" Melanie flops into the seat next to me, "I know you guys probably don't want me here but I have nowhere else to go" she laughs it off.
"What?" I ask and sit down in the seat.
