As me and Ali walk outside, we couldn't help but notice how many people were talking and hanging with their families. People talking about the theme of the party, others about how proud they are about graduating. I couldn't help but smile
"So I heard the theme of the party is red carpet and I gotta say we did a pretty good job picking out our dresses especially for you. That dress is a killer" Ali smiled.
"Ali I don't know, I'm kinda nervous about this party. You know I'm not a party type girl. Plus there might be outsiders" I looked at her nervously, thinking maybe this isn't going to be a good idea after all.
"Relax Kat, we're going to have a good time. Besides, I'll be there and maybe we can find you a nice hot guy to date" ,she winks at me.
"No, I don't want to date a guy yet until I know he's the right one for me" I try to explain to her but I know she's not listening because she starts to smile as we move closer to our parents and her boyfriend who's holding flowers in his hand.
I walk over to my parents, a soft smile forming on my face as I give them a warm hug.
"Congratulations honey, we're are so very proud of you" my mom says. "Yes we are" my dad tells me, pulling me back to them for another hug.
"I couldn't do it without you guys", or my best friend Ali, who I then turn around and see hugging her parents as they congratulate her. Then she turns to her boyfriend who hands her the beautiful red roses and gifts he's got before pulling him in for a huge hug and leaving a kiss on his cheek.
"Show off" I whispered to Jason as I give him a hug which made us both laugh. "Congrats to you too Kat" he says.
"He's amazing isn't he? Now all we have to do is find you someone and we can all live happily ever after" she tells me, I roll my eyes.
We continue to stand around and talk amongst each other debating on whether we should go out to eat to celebrate before the party starts but the teacher could tell us to come back in the building at anytime.
"Maybe we should just stay and wait" I told Ali and she agreed.
"Right. Jason go see what your friends are gonna do" she kissed him and he left.
She came over to stand by me and locked her arm with mine, that's when one of the security guards came out the building and announced, "all senior students may report to the gymnasium at this time".
"Alright girls, I guess that's your cue" Ali's mom said.
"Katerina I want you back at the house before three" I heard my dad say as I went over to them. My mom pulling me in for yet another hug whispering in my ear, "I'll leave your gifts in your room"
"Thanks mom. I love you" I gave her a warm smile and received one back. "I love you more. Now have fun and don't worry about being in the house on time, I can control your dad" she looked at him.
"C'mon Katty"
"Yeah c'mon Kat, times a wasting" Ali, her boyfriend and his friends yelled from the door."Okay, I'm coming" I ran up to the door, smiling and biting my lips nervously as I grab Ali's hand before turning around to wave bye to my parents.
Well here goes nothing, I thought to myself 'this outta be good'.
