We walked, hand in hand toward the beach. The whole walk was us just talking about random things. But even though they were random, I still loved the comfort of being around Levi. I was living up to it. And I couldn't wait to see where this relationship took us.
When we arrived at the beach, we continued to walk all the way past the giant rock he found me crying at the other day.
"So where are we going I thought we were staying on the beach?" I asked him, looking at into his handsome face. His dark brown locks blew in the wind.
"Theres a place still on the beach. It's called the pier. Not alot of people go there but I do" he looks down at me and smiles.
He starts walking but notices I stand still in the same spot.
"Katerina, do you still trust me?" he walks back to me now. His face inches from mine, then he puts his hands on the sides of my face.
I smiled, "yes Levi, of course I do. I really really do" I swallowed then he puts his lips on mine. Even as the cold wind blew I can feel the heat between us. His soft lips fitting perfectly with mines as he kissed me. I wanted more of him. And I wanted it now, but I knew it had to wait.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and he puts his hands to my waist. Then he pulls away and our eyes lock. He puts his left hand softly on my face again.
He looks up into the distance behind us but I don't turn around to see what he's looking at because he let's go of me, then holds out his hand. I grabbed it and we continue to walk until we reach a path that leads to the pier.
We walk among it until we reach the ending. From there I could see everything and I now realized how high up we were from the ground. It was such a beautiful view.
"This is so beautiful Levi" I turn to him and smile and the corners of his mouth go up. Then he steps closer to me as I turn back toward the view.
I could feel his hands go around my waist again, my back on his chest as we stand there looking out over the ocean.
"The sunset is better here then on the beach, trust me. Whenever you wanna come here, you can tell me okay? I'll bring you here anytime" I just smiled and closed my eyes at his response.
"Kat" he broke the silence and I turned around in his arms.
"I've been wanting to ask you something" he started to fidget a little I noticed and I wondered what it was he wanted to ask at that moment.
"Yeah?"
He swallowed, then he started to smile "will you be my girlfriend?"
I just looked at him. He was finally asking me to be his girlfriend after all this time. All I wanted to do was scream hell yes but before I could say anything, he started again.
"I know we haven't really spent much time together. And I know what I told you the other day is still on your mind", he put his hand to my face and looked into my eyes. I wondered what he saw, it was like he was seeing through me instead of at me, "but I want you to be mine. I want you to be my girlfriend"
I didn't say anything, I started smiling so much it made my mouth hurt. The I jumped into his arms and kissed him hard on the lips. I pulled back, "is that a yes babe?" He asked, grinning from ear to ear.
"Yes Levi. I would love to be your girlfriend"
I was the happiest person at the moment. Nothing could ruin this for me. I finally found someone who liked me just as much as I like them. Levi Price was the happiness of my tragedy. I just hoped that this could last for us, especially for myself. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else but here in his arms.
It had felt like a long time sitting on the edge of the pier looking out at the sunset as it descended in the blue sky. The sun disappeared and the stars came out. Levi finally told me stories about his childhood, well at least one. He told me when he was young the his mom brought him a telescope so that he could view the stars in the sky every night and that he would write down every new one he saw. He also said that he thinks the stars are openings from the other side where all our ancestors who have passed away look through and shine down letting us know they are happy.
When we arrived back at the dorms it was sort of late. I grabbed my things out of his car and we walked hand in hand into the building.
When we made it to the dorms, I gave Levi a kiss and he promised me he'd see me in class tomorrow then he headed to his dorm. I stood there at the door and watched him walk away. I actually wondered when the time would come for us to see each others dorm rooms instead of our own.
As I layed in bed that night, after making sure Violet was out like a light I turned on my right side in bed and the moon light shined through the window onto my bed creating a magnificent night light. I had thought about what Levi said earlier before heading to the beach and I picked up my phone and looked up what red roses meant.
To my surprise, red roses meant undying love. I bit my lip then, thinking about Levi and how much he cared for me just as much as I did for him. How I hoped and prayed that this would last for a while. And then I wondered if he really loved me? If roses meant undying live, is that how he felt about me? Did he love me?
Then I drifted off into a deep sleep.
