"Ahh I'm so happy you decided to come Kat, this is going to be the best night ever" Violet comes up to the side of me as were walking and locks her arm with mine."I hope your right. But like I said, if I don't feel comfortable I'm going back to the dorms. Alone or not, I don't care" I told her
"Fine" she looked away.
We were walking along the sidewalk toward the beach. It was 6pm and the sun was still shinning at this time.
Violet and Monica basically forced me to go even though I didn't want too. Ali said it was okay if I stayed but I would miss out on some cool things. Then there was Jason who by my surprise said how cool it would be to get back at a guy like that. Even though Jason wasn't my boyfriend, I still appreciated the fact that he was willing to be on my side. He was like a brother to me.
My eyes shot to ground as I felt the bottom of my sandal hit sand. I looked up at the sky and I could see that the sun was like a big bright light but not bright enough that it would hurt my eyes. It was actually beautiful against the surface of the clear blue water. It was a little chilly but the sun made the cool and warm balance against my skin.
I decided to wear a rose gold low-cut shoulder crop with some light jean shorts and some rose gold sandals. I curled my hair before we left and applied a little make up here and there with Ali's help. Why not make an appearance? I'm single after all. I just don't wanna come off as the desperate type. Not like that whore Victoria. With a butt and boobs like that, I'm sure guys can't keep their eyes off of her.
We continued to walk down the beach and I spotted out where the rest of the students were scattered. There was loud music and some were sitting around the fire. Some were dancing and some were just standing and talking. Everyone had red cups in there hands. I recognized some people as we got closer.
"I think I'm gonna be sick" I swallowed.
"No! Kat its okay, just blend in. I'll be with you the whole time okay?" Violet told me
I could see Jason and Ali head toward the drinks some guy was preparing.
"I know it's just, this reminds me of high school" I bit my lip then. Doing that made me think of Levi. How my heart wishes he was here but my brain tells me to just have fun and forget about him.
My eyes roamed and I spotted Victoria. She was over by a group of boys and of course her pack of dogs were with her.
I rolled my eyes, "Hey Kat!"I heard Ali say and me and Vi headed toward her.
"Here, try this. It's really good" Ali smiled
She handed me the drink and I drank it, "omg what is this?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Its called Jungle Juice, mixture of vodka and all kinds of fruits " she announces over the music playing.
I take another sip.
"The suns gonna set soon I think we better find a good spot" Violet says, but then the music changes to a different type of song and I hear everyone yelling.
"Oh my God, this is the best song ever. They played this song for the last party" Violet says, then she yells and starts dancing along to the music like everyone else. I laughed at her a little then I looked toward the crowd and I could see Monica dancing with Lucas.
Two guys started walking toward Violet and I and my heart began to race. I take another sip of the drink.
"Hey beautiful" one of them says to me. He was a little taller then me and he wore just shorts and no shoes or shirt. He had big brown eyes and a small beard.
"Hi" I basically yell over the loud bass.
"Come dance with me, please"
"Um.." I look over at Violet and realize the space is empty next to me.
The other guy drags her toward the crowd of people. I let out a breath.
"No I'm sorry, I'm okay right here" I tell him
He shrugs and backs away from me then turns around and heads back toward the crowd and loud music.
Ten minutes had passed which felt like forever and I'm still standing here alone away from everyone else. I could see that Violet was still with the same guy and when I looked at her and she looked at me, I could see she looked worried but I smiled and shook my head no to say that she didn't have to worry about me.
Then I saw Ali with Jason and I smiled. They were standing by themselves and Jason was whispering something in her ear that made her laugh.
"Katerina!" I turned toward my name caller. It was Violet's brother.
He ran up to me with two cups in his hand.
"Hey" he smiled, practically knocking me over. He's drunk, I thought. Of course he is.
"Hi, are you okay?"
"I'm better then okay babe" he laughed harder then expected and grabbed my hand spinning me around.
He dropped one of the cups from his hand and I stepped back so the juice wouldn't get on me.
"Where is Monica?" I asked him but he just kept trying to dance close to me.
"Lucas, where is Monica?"
"Uhh, she is at the lady's room. I think" he takes another sip of his drink.
I moved toward him and whispered, "Maybe you shouldn't drink so much"
His face goes blink then he puts his hand on my face, "your very pretty"
I step back a little and my face goes red.
"Thanks but I think you should go look for Monica now" I say to him.
He doesn't listen to what I say because he steps closer to me and tries to kiss me. But I push him away.
"Lucas stop" I say, but he keeps trying.
"Lucas please stop" I try pushing him away again but it's no use.
"Lucas!"
"She said stop!" I almost fall backward but I catch myself and I see someone push Lucas away from me.
He drops his other cup, "jeez Levi relax" he says. Then he runs his hands through his hair and walks away.
Levi looks at me and I just look at him. I think my heart exploded at that moment. He looked handsome standing there. But there was a million questions that needed answering and I wasn't about to let him think he could talk to me right now.
So I did what any other person whom was in my situation would do and I walked away.
"Katerina" I heard him say but I didn't turn around. I started running. I didnt know where I was going. All I knew was that the tears were coming, and my heart was beating out of my chest.
