"Hi, Katerina Anderson" I told one of the men taking names for the students who were graduating.
After we arrived at school, we got out of the car and jumped right in line to get our names checked. Ali and Jason told me they were gonna look around a little to see if they could find some of their other friends and that they'd meet me in my homeroom.
"Uh yes, cap and gowns are in room 202 and 204" he smiled, after checking my name.
"Okay, thank you" I returned a warm smile and started walking around thinking maybe I can find some of mine too. I saw some teachers that said hi and some said congratulations to me and how it's been a pleasure teaching me and things like that. I also saw a couple of friends that said hi and told me I looked great. I laughed looking in room 202 first which also had a long line of students waiting to get their cap and gowns.
"Hey Kat!" My friend Kayla said, turning around to hug me. She was in my biology class and she loved to play sports.
"Oh hey! I didn't realize that was you" I smiled, hugging her back.
"You look great girl" she said looking at my dress and shoes. I guess Ali was right after all.
"Thanks, you too. What's going on?" I asked her.
"They have all the cap and gowns in alphabetical order. A through M in here and N through Z in 204. And yeah I know it sucks to have to wait in line." She laughed.I laughed a little, "Well at least I ended up in the right place." Then I thought about how impatient Ali is and laughed even more. She must be paranoid. I bit my lip thinking she's either still in line or waiting in homeroom for me, which won't end good considering the fact that the line I'm in is out the door and she's gonna have to wait a little while.
Kayla and I finally reached the front of the line, she was in front of me getting her cap and gown and I was behind her and there were still plenty of people behind me. No wonder they made us arrive two hours before the graduation started having to make sure everyone receives there cap and gown and that everything is set exactly the way it should be.
We both walked to the bathroom to put ours on making sure not to mess up our hair or anything. I was looking in the mirror when Kayla said, "Are you going to the party later on?"
"Yeah, definitely. I know some of my other close friends are going and wants me to go too...you going?" I explained to her.
"Cool, and totally, I heard it's gonna be a blast so I said why not go to the last party that's being held at Freefall High" she told me, laughing.
I laughed too checking myself in the mirror one last time before heading for the door alongside Kayla. We talked about the party for a little while as we walked down the hall and she told me there weren't gonna be any teachers here just some security guards in case anything gets out of hand. We reached my homeroom and I told Kayla this was where I had to meet Ali.
"Okay, I have to go down a little further so I guess-...Hey!" She yelled, someone flew by us pretty quickly.
"Haha, can't catch me!", I looked to see who it was that literally smacked the cap off her head, I yelled "wait, do you know him?" ,as she moved down the hall trying not to fall in her heels.
"Tommy get your ass back here with my cap!" She yelled then turned towards me and said, "my little brother. I guess I'll catch you later" she told me before she took her heels off and ran after him catching him at the end of the hall in time to smack him, snatch her cap, and say,
"How the hell did you get in here?"
" I snuck in" he said laughing. She grabbed his arm and walked him back outside to their parents.
" Where the hell have you been?" I turned to see Ali in my face arms crossed, looking confused. "I've been waiting for you for almost an hour", she explained.
"Relax Ali, the cap and gown line was out the door" I pronounced.
"Fine. But you know I don't like waiting" she told me, I laughed telling myself I know. "Now come on, me and some of Jason's friends are taking pictures" she said smiling as she grabbed my arm and pulled me toward them.
"Hey Katerina" some of them said, "nice dress" Nick, one of Jason's friends, said blushing and smiling at me. I smiled back with a thanks in return saying to myself I have alot of thanking to tell Ali when the night is over.
