It's almost time to head back for the last days of class and what better way to finish off my freshman year then by starting some writing drafts for future plans in which direction I want to go in.

Writing out some important topics and things on my new laptop for future purposes and it feels good. The music is high in my ears and I can't hear a thing but it, I never do this though. I never listen to music and do important work at the same time but this time it just feels right.

The clock at the bottom of the screen reads 1:03pm. This morning I'd had breakfast with my family and we watched some TV until Dad had to meet up with someone who works at his facility to talk to them about an important client. Even on his vacation days, he'd do whatever it is he had too for work. Mom would do the same except when it came to her children, she would do anything for us and I wish she didn't work so hard.

I guess that was where I got my hard working skills from. Even as my parents had the money for college I still felt like I couldn't waste my time not working hard enough for my career.

Still, there was just something that was missing. I turned down the music just to make sure I couldn't hear my name being called.

"Katerina!"

Mom called, of course she did. I shook my head and smiled before throwing my head phones down on the bed and climbing to the edge to stand up and head for the door.

"Katerina!" Her voice echoed throughout the house and I stomped my way to the end of the hall.

"Yes?" She looked up from the end of the steps, meeting my eyes. She didn't smile, her face flashed worry.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

Then she looked to someone and they took the space she occupied a second ago. Ali-Anne looked up the steps, the same expression filling her features.

"Hey Ali"

She came running up the steps and wrapped me in her arms.

"Katerina" she broke the embrace and looked at me, "Lucas and Monica got into an accident and I have no idea if they are alright because Violet won't answer the damn phone"

I blinked and swallowed looking straight into her eyes. I didn't know what to say, were they okay? It would be stupid of me to ask, since Violet won't answer the phone and she hasn't heard anything.

"Kat?" She raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Yeah, sorry. Um, do you think they are okay?" I ask.

"I have no idea but we really should try and contact her, I'm getting worried" she finishes before we made our way to the room.

I closed the door and hurried to the bed to move the things layed out on it out of the way. I grabbed my phone and sat down next to my best friend.

"What should we do?" I look to her.

"We should try calling, you call Monica and I'll try Violet again"

I nod, unlocking my phone and dialing Monica's number before pressing the call button. It rang and rang and rang until it went to voicemail.

"Nothing, I'll try again"

I repeat what I did and she doesn't answer. I'm getting really worried now and Ali starts to fidget.

"What did she say to you last?"

She stood and paced the floor with the phone held up to her ear.

"She said she was out with her Dad or something and then she said she had to go so I hung up and she texted me what happened and I was worried so I called her but she didn't answer" she takes a breath.
