"Where did you come from?" Lucy asked Lily as she sat down opposite me and next to Lucy.

"On my date with Jesse." Lily smiled too happy to contain it.

"You should not be dating this guy, he's bad news. Last week he pulled so many pranks on teachers that they're afraid to walk by him." I complained to Lily, I really didn't like him.

"I wish you got to know Jesse before you judge him." Lily rolled her eyes.

"Hey he's made a fine impression on me." I shrugged feeling stupid about the whole thing.

"You guys don't think Jesse is bad news do you?" Lily asked the table at lunch which I was then very stupid about as Matt was sat a few chairs down from me.

"Yep, totally" the whole table agreed with me. Even Matt who wasn't talking to me was agreeing and shouting out his ideas.

"See." I gloated.

"I don't care I like him. You will too, don't worry." She smiled as if she knew something I didn't. I just mocked her because I was never going to like him he was annoying.

I found that the time went quickly this half term as we had a week off for mocks as well as February half term. Then all of sudden it was Lily's birthday and Lucy's and soon Matts, I didn't even know if I was going to his party or not. He'd not invited me yet.

"Sara could you make a copy of this for me and then put that back on James' desk? Thank you." I smiled as the girl was sat in my office doing nothing. I'd given her this job as my assistant but once I'd shown her around the place there wasn't much for her to do, I don't know why her dad insisted she be here.

"Ordering people around, I see." Marty met me for lunch in my office.

"Always." I laughed as he placed the food on the desk and I opened up the paper bags to start eating.

"So you're still afraid to eat lunch in the canteen?" Marty asked.

"No, I just don't meet anyone at lunch on Tuesdays and I don't want to be on my own if I run into a certain someone. I need an icebreaker if I'm going to go to the canteen." I smiled taking a bite of the burger he brought.

"Well, I'm avaliable on Tuesdays." He offered.

"Oh that's sweet but, you're not good at diffusing the tension though, really?" I frowned at him.

"It's true I do get  a little nervous but hey, I'm not nervous now." He shrugged.

"That's because we're alone, and you're only talking to me, I repeat, alone." I laughed and I had the sudden thought that I might have hurt his feelings or something so I shut up and quickly changed the subject to his life and not mine.

So when I walked past Matt in English he handed me a piece of paper, just like everyone else in the class, an invite to his party.

"I don't want to go to that." I mumbled throwing the invitation around.

"I know, but you have to do what I did. Turn up and let people see you, so they know no drama is going on there. You have to be seen as being okay after the break up or people will start asking questions and you do not want that." Lily warned me.

"Right makes sense I guess, do i bring a plus one?" I asked.

"Do you have a plus one?" she asked patronisingly.

"No." I answered.

"Then don't bring one." She laughed, "I'm bringing Jesse and we're going back to his place after so cover for me?" she asked nicely.

"Sure, but are you okay with going 'back to his' so early in you're relationship?" I asked her.

"Yes, we've been going out for nearly two months now and it's none of your business either." She snapped and it made me never want to talk about their relationship again. He wasn't good for her and she was going to suffer because of it.

I made an appearance at the party. It was cool, quite a lot people turned up because he's the most popular guy in our year and even some second year seniors turned up. It was great really. I found it was boring though without a plus one but soon found Marty to keep me company.

Richard was here as well, his arm around molly as they circled the room and made sure everyone knew they were here, after all he was the most popular guys in the school. I wasn't sure why, as he wasn't exactly a bad boy or anything.

Though Jesse did abandon Lily at some point in the night because he was somehow sat with me and Marty on a few close by chairs.

That's where things got kind of weird. Marty tried to stick with me because he didn't know many people and Jesse was starting to really bug me. He'd tease me and annoy me and it was really starting to piss me off to the point where I just wanted to leave.

But no, I manage to bump into Matt whilst trying to get away. "Trying to sneak off?" He asked me grabbing my arm.

"Ha, no why would think that?" I laughed nervously.

"Well because you're headed for the door and you look angry." He smiled. It was the first time we'd spoken since we'd broken up over a two months ago and now he seemed to be being nice to me.

"It's just that new kid that Lily's seeing, he keep bugging me and teasing me and well, it's starting to get on my nerves." I moaned shrugging my shoulders.

"He's flirting with you." Matt stated.

"What? No, he isn't he hates me just as much as I hate him, we only talk because of Lily." I explained to him. "And when we do talk he make fun of me and jokes about me."

"He's flirting with you." He repeated.

"Shut up he's flirting with you." I complained shoving him in a jokey way.

"No he's definitely flirting with you."

"Would you stop saying that, he's not flirting with me!"
