It was the morning of the wedding and I was feeling pretty confident. I was ready and in my dress, about to go down and meet everyone in reception, but I thought I'd go and see if Rachel needed any help. She had her sister helping her but I thought maybe I could look after Violet or something and make things easier. I know how stressful this could be for her."Hey." I smiled walking in and seeing Rachel sat with her hair all done and ready in a fancy up do and she was getting ready to put her dress on. I saw Violet sat in the corner mucking about.
"Jenna. There isn't any problems is there?" She asked me gently.
"No, no. I just came to see if there was anything I could do for you!" I laughed a little. "I can take Violet of our hands if you want, take her down to reception whilst you get your dress on and do anything last minute.
"Violet Hun. Do you want to go with Jenna?" Rachel asked as she stopped playing with her toys and looked up. She had her hair done just as fancy as mine and Rachel's to be honest. Her hair was curly and some of it was up and some was down. Her dress wasn't on her yet because we didn't trust her but I said I'd dress her.
"Yes!" She screeched excitedly. "Can I wear my dress now?" She hummed taking my hand.
"Yeah, I'll get you dressed and downstairs alright?" I laughed a little picking up her dress and taking her out of the hotel room. "We'll see you soon" I smiled at Rachel before leaving.
"You look really pretty." She said to me.
"Thank you, and you're hair looks lovely. We just have to get this dress on." I showed her to my room to get changed.

"Here we go you look beautiful!" I smiled doing the final adjustments to her sash around the waist making sure it was straight.
"Can we go and show mummy now?" Violet asked.
"No, we're going to wait downstairs for mummy before we get in the car and go to the church." I laughed. "You'll see mummy in the car I promise." When in fact I didn't even know what the car arrangements were.
"Lets go. Let's go." Violet nagged me as I was closing the hotel room door and I glanced along the corridor noticing a man in a suit towards the end. I didn't know hardly anyone coming to this wedding.
Well, I knew family but friends were way over my head. I was never here to meet any of dads friends or Rachel's for that matter. It didn't matter as the man had disappeared now which meant I didn't have to make small talk and I just took Violet down stairs to the lobby where everyone was gathering.

"Are you Dave's other daughter?" One woman said to me as I was clearly standing with Violet in front of me. I had my hands on her shoulders to stop her running off.
"His first daughter." I stared a little annoyed by that women's comment.
"Oh what a terrible shame about your mother, but I guess we wouldn't be here today otherwise. Que sera sera as they say." I swear I wanted to hit this woman. But I let it go because it was a wedding.
I'd go into detail about what happened next but it's wasn't actually that amazing. Rachel came downstairs everyone got all excited and helped her into the car. Violet and I got into a car with other bridesmaids and people and we went to the church.
It was pretty standard. Nothing spectacular.
"Violet do you remember from the rehearsal how we are doing this? You hold this basket and sprinkle the petals on the floor." I quickly briefed her.
"I remember!" She smiled getting all excited. The music started to play and that was her cue.
Violet took off down the aisle, then us bridesmaids and then the music changed, everyone stood up and Rachel made her entrance. I smiled so much at the moment because not only did she look amazing but dad was grinning so much I wanted to cry he looked so happy.
Just as the ceremony was starting I noticed someone creep in the back door of the church and sit on the back row on the side I was standing. I squinted because I could only just make it out. But it was Richard.
I half smiled, half frowned at him as he made eye contact with me. He just smiled and then sat back continuing to watch the ceremony.
I couldn't take my eyes off of him the whole time. What the hell was he doing here?

"How long do I have?" I asked dad quickly as we were assembling outside after the wedding to take photos.
"Oo, 2 minutes? Why?" He asked.
"I have to see someone." I smirked handing him my flowers and walking quickly through the crowds of people to see if I could find Richard. I looked everywhere, and I couldn't see him and I ended up just being called away for photos.
I was standing smiling and posing for photos and not really taking any interest at all as I was just staring at the crowds of people. Though posing for pictures was what I did for living so I wasn't that bad.
Then I finally spotted him standing on his own smiling at me as we were taking pictures.
"Hey, how about just some of Rachel and dad? Yeah? I think we're ruining all these photos. Come on guys." I said to all the bridesmaids and groomsmen. That gave me the chance to confront him.
"Hey stranger." He said to me as I walked up to him.
"I thought I was going crazy." I hit him quickly. "Wha--what? What are doing here?" I stuttered a little bit.
"I came to see your dad and Rachel get married." He hummed.
"No you didn't." I smirked.
"Yeah I did." He frowned.
"No seriously, why are you here?" I asked him but he just answered the same again and I knew I wasn't getting anywhere anytime soon with him.
"No, no seriously. I just thought this was like our things now... We go to wedding together... Is that not-- our thing?" He smirked.
"No it's not." I laughed at him.
