Violet was asleep by the time we were at the hospital so I had to pick her up and take her in while Jake parked the car. I had her on my hip looking like a madwoman running into the hospital.

I got there and my hair must of been a mess. I was sweating almost as much as violet and panting as I spoke to the nice man at the desk.

I was told to take and seat and that was the last thing that I wanted. So I sat down with violets head now resting in my lap while her feet were up on another chair.

"Violet Coleman?" A doctor said. It was embarrassing when I went to the desk because I didn't know if they had changed her names yet. So I said it was either jones or Coleman but I'd didn't know.

They must of found the right one in the end.

"This is violet, shes 7 years old. Her sister says she's had chest infections and is now complaining of shortness of breath and a high temperature." A nurse said to this doctor as I placed violet down on a bed they had in the cubicles.

"Violet can you hear me?" This young man said as he started to look over violet.

"Where am I?" She groaned waking up and looking around her.

"You're in the hospital darling." This nurse smiled at her and held her hand. I was pathetic. I stood there biting my nails and sweating like a pig.

When someone noticing I was in this state I was taken out of the room and placed in a waiting room in the emergency department.

I felt like an idiot. When they said what was wrong with her I thought how I should have just tried Dad and Rachel again and then tried to get her a doctors appointment. Why did I bring her here?

"Hey everything okay?" Jake asked after finally finding me in this waiting room.

"Yeah she's having some tests done." I said sighing.

"Any news?" He asked.

"Well it isn't a chest infection they know that. They're still working on it, they don't know the exact problem." I explained to him nicely.

"I'm surprised they haven't tried your dad or Rachel yet." Jake rolled his eyes.

"I told them not to bother but they did anyway and they couldn't get through to them. The funny thing is we might be in the same building as them. If they came to this hospital." I laughed.

"Is violet okay not having anyone? She's not scared?" Jake wondered.

"She's asleep most of the time. And when she's awake the nurse is really nice and talking to her." I explained.

Then suddenly the male Doctor from earlier came through the door of this waiting room and sat down next to me.

"Right so we've got some news." He said fairly calmly. "But I'm really thinking we need her parents here. It's really important that they hear this."

"Can't you tell me anyway?" I asked eager to hear it.

"I can but you should really be in contact with her parents." He sighed.

"Okay well I'll call them again I guess." I muttered. I got up went to ring them and they didn't answer again.

So I went out to make a few calls, if I didn't get in contact with them soon I'd be having to make some serious investigations. Perhaps even going to both hospitals in the area and finding them.

So when dad's phone when straight to voicemail again I phone Richard instead.

"Hey." Richard answered the phone sounding kinda busy.

"You're not busy are you?" I said nervously.

"Well no, I was just with the family they can wait. What's up?" He asked. I felt kinda bad then because it was like he actually wanted to be with his family for once. So I kept it short.

"Just an update. Violets now been in hospital for the last 3 hours and Dad and Rachel are still missing." I sighed.

"Wow. So anything about violet?" He asked.

"Well yes and no, there's news but they want parents to hear it first. I guess now they're running more tests themselves." I moaned. "Anyway I--"

For fucks sake, I didn't think I would be this angry but when I saw Dad walking out of the hospital smiling his head off I just want to throw something at him.

"Jenna!" Dad said all smiley and laughing.

"Do not even start--" I yelled at him.

"What? Is this about the babysitter?" He said very nervous all of a sudden.

"Jenna?" Richard asked still on the phone.

"Hold on Richard, I'm gunna have to call you back." I said down the phone before hanging up and yelling at Dad. "It's about how you have no ability to pick up your damn phone."

"Rachel and I have just had a baby. We can't be expected to respond to everything." He sighed.

"I give up." I rolled my eyes.

"Why are you here? At the hospital?" Dad asked suddenly.

"Maybe if you'd answered your phone you'd know that violets chest infection is actually something way worse and she's been admitted into hospital." I said quite harshly but I knew he wouldn't want to be yelled at about this. Violet is his daughter after all and it's heartbreaking news.

"What?" He stuttered.

"Your daughters in hospital and I've spent all bloody day ringing you and Rachel who can't be bothered to look at a text or call." I yelled.

"Our phones were dead. We'd been in the hospital three days without a charger." He shook his head. "Where's violet now? I need to see her."

"I'll show you." I said walking off in front of him and info the building.

"Violet, I finally got daddy for you." I smiled as I walked into violets hospital room.

"Daddy!" She squeaked but she looked so tired and dull. Violet was rubbing her eyes and you could tell she was tired and wanted to sleep but they didn't want her to get too tired and sleep all day and be awake all night.

"Violet, hunny I'm so sorry." He said rushing in and giving her a big hug. They then chatted for a while. They didn't mention the baby once, it was good. It was all about violet for once.
