Uneventful but also chapter 300, so yeah. Though there are hints in it as to what the next twist will be so that can be what makes it special.
I slept for most of the plane journey which wasn't a surprise as all I seemed to do recently was sleep. That or read because I had a lot of reading for English to do.
The tiny bit of time that I didn't sleep I was working on the first edition of the paper for when we go back to Ashford next week. I hadn't been told I was off the paper yet so I just kept doing work as if I was still the editor.
Richard was going through emails, because yes for like the first time in a long time my plane had wifi. Weird and I was even able to chat with Lily for a bit, just texting so she wouldn't know I was on a plane.
In airport was a bit of a state too because our baggage was taking forever to come and then they announce they had some problem with it and their not able to give it back to us for an hour.
If you were in a rush you could go speak to someone about it and go and get it directly from the plane but we couldn't be bothered.
Richard and I sat by luggage carousel and connected our laptops to the wifi before getting on with stuff. Mine was also looking at my Ashford application for university.
It must of been about 9 o'clock before we left the airport and then we actually got back to Richards at 10. I then got in a taxi to the train and sat on a long train for like 2 hours to get back home.
I thought about texting dad quickly but there was no point in waking him.
I walked into the house smiling away at how nice the weekend was and I pulled my suitcase in and dumped in on the floor in the hall before I went to get a drink before bed.
But I noticed a few lights on and I knew straight away I'd been caught.
Dad eyes were fixated on me as I turned into the lounge. He was sat on the sofa with something laying next to him but I couldn't make out what it was.
"Dad." I hummed as I felt my whole body start to shake nervously.
"So you forgot to take these when you left on Friday." He said in the most chill manner ever and I freaked because he sounded normal but obviously something was up.
"Where did you get these?" I asked taking the piece of paper from his hand and reading it. It was our boarding passes that I printed out in case the mobile thing didn't work.
"It doesn't matter how I got them Jenna, it matters that you're lying to me. Constantly. But you left the country this time. I tell you what it was your luck we only found them today or you would have been on the next flight home Friday night." Dad lectured me and I stepped back a little.
"I went away. Okay I lied to you but chill out jeez." I moaned at him.
"Who d'ya go with? Huh?" He sounded intimidating and weird and I wanted to punch him.
"I-"
"Well it wasn't Lily because she doesn't know shit all about it either." Dad shouted slamming his hand down. I think it was the first time I heard him swear, if not one of the very few times.
"You told Lily." I closed my eyes as if I was in pain and I threw the pieces of paper to the floor angrily not sure what I was doing.
"Yes I had to find out where you were." He huffed.
"In Paris alright. You know that now, the passes say that." I grumbled.
"Yes but what were you doing there?"
"Having fun. Enjoying myself but actually I worried so much that I was lying to everyone that I made myself sick with guilt." I yelled at him.
"Too right." Dad snapped.
"You have no idea do you?" I screamed then remembered Rachel and violet were probably asleep upstairs.
"Who were you with?"
"A guy. You don't know him." I made it up.
"Not Richard? Or that other guy you dated, uh Matt?" He grumbled.
"No. A nice guy that likes me and we went out together and I lied and I'm well, yeah I'm sorry. Speak to me when you care a little less." I rolled my eyes storming out of the room to my bedroom.

That little cover story might of worked for dad but Lily? No way was she buying that. I had to think fast because I knew she'd be on to me soon.
In fact that night.
It was when I got up to my room and shut the door that I checked my messages. I had a missed Facetime call from Lily and a normal voice call.
Well, I better get it out of the way now.
"Lily, how are you?" I smiled opening up my laptop as I decided to Facetime on the laptop instead.
"Great how was Paris?" She asked cocking one eyebrow up and giving me that weird look.
"Really good, I got you a present and everything." I said looking down at the suitcase on the other side of the room.
"Jenna." She said seriously.
"Okay fine, I'm sorry I lied." I huffed.
"Was it Richard?" She hummed laying back on her bed and repositioning the camera to show more of her face. I gave her a weird look and then looked away quickly. "It was? Are you two..."
"No." I snapped quickly. "We're friends. We went as friends, he invited me."
"Just you two?" Lily made the most awkward face ever.
"Uh no. He was going with mates and I tagged along." I shrugged.
"Oh, alright. That makes sense, I guess. Was it good?" She asked.
"Yeah, I didn't feel great the first couple of days but I think it was because I was lying to everyone. I felt bad. But I'm okay now and the rest of the trip was fun. It was good because we didn't go on a family holiday because dad and Rachel couldn't afford a wedding and a honeymoon and a holiday." I explained.
"That's cool. I mean the parents go on holiday this week with the twins and usually I'm offered to join them, and I make a song and a dance and say no, but this year they didn't even offer. Mum just left a note on the fridge saying there's food and not to wreck the house." Lily shrugged.
"Wow."
"I didn't know it was possible for them to hate me more." Lily rolled her eyes. "I never got that memo."
"I don't get your parents." I hummed, I mean she never told me anything about why they don't like her. Only that when the twins were born she was ignored, but there must be more behind it. I don't care much though, it's her personal life.
"It's dad mainly. He forces it on my mother." Lily huffed angrily.
"Well hey if you want a dad and a step mum, let's switch places." I joked.
"Let's do it." She laughed.
"Though you wouldn't want dad at the moment he's unusually angry with me." I then went on to explain how he had suddenly decided to be a parent for the first time since my mum died.
"Life sucks." Lily mumbled.
