It was pretty late at night whilst we were driving, must have been almost midnight. I was exhausted from today when you're so chilled out but also stressing to control a 5-year-old. It can be tough.
Though I was tired, I was always a super careful driver. I never make mistakes and I know when I'm too tired to drive.
"Jenna, what time do you think we'll be back?" Lily asked as we drove. Everyone was asleep but her and I and she'd only just woken up. It was about 10pm.
"Oh uh, I dunno. Half an hour?" I guessed.
"Alright, I want to let Matt know because he's waiting to take us out to dinner."
"Dinner? At this time?" I moaned.
"Yes Jenna, probably a quick dinner nothing severe!" She laughed and tapped my leg gently.
"Uh I don't think so. I'll be going to Richards I think." I scoffed. It was at that moment that I wasn't focusing properly. I won't ever tell anyone that I heard the motorbike in the distance but I did, and I also assumed that it was nowhere near.
I remember pulling out of the round-a-bout and knowing for sure that it was clear. No one was there, it was night, no one was on the road.
I was sure of it.
But maybe it was my fault. Maybe my reaction could have changed things. Or maybe it really was a freak accident?
The first thing that hit me was the scream that I heard from lily. The utter fear that lingered at the back of her throat and I wondered how she managed it. I was in too much shock to think let alone cry out.
All I know is that I'm laying here in this seat after being rotated 360 degrees in Rachel's car, hearing painful screams from all around me.
What happened next? Well, that's simple. We were in a ditch unconscious and blood dripping from everyone's foreheads.

All I heard was lily scream. She must have been in some sort of crazy pain because I was fine. Nothing hurt. I mean I had grazed my head and my legs but everything else seemed fine. It was pretty lucky. Until I realised.
"Lucy, Liv? You alright?" I called back to them, I was too afraid to open my eyes. They were shut tight too scared to even peek.
"Yeah, we're okay. I think." Lucy called back.
"Fine." Olivia called. But lily screamed again and I knew I'd have to open my eyes.
The only good thing about this was that we had landed the right way up so everyone was still firmly sat in their seat and even though we'd had a great tumble down into this ditch we weren't upside down.
"Lily? Are you alright? What's the matter?" I asked opening my eyes and I regretted it. She was crying and sobbing her eyes out. Tears ran from her cheeks like a bloody waterfall.
Her head was firmly back against the head rest and I saw blood across her forehead. "I can't feel my legs." She said suddenly.
"Fuck." I spat straight away half at her statement and half at the fact I realised I could get out of the car. I had been trying to open the door but was trapped and I started to feel a bit lightheaded and weird. "Okay, just keep still. Do not move okay?" I said moving my hands frantically looking for my phone in my pocket.
It was cracked and broken and I worried it wouldn't work for a moment. I tapped the button several times until it responded and saw it could work, so I carefully dialled for an ambulance. "I need an ambulance." I panted.
