I woke up that evening with a headache so I went straight to our fridge for a drink and downed the first bottle water I could get my hands on and I actually felt myself feel better.

I decided I'd go to dinner, try and act normal with everyone and see what happens. I went into the canteen and got some food and walked over to our usual table.

I didn't sit in my usual seat next to lily and instead sat at the end where Oliver and Tom were having a conversation.

I don't think anyone knew particularly what happened by the way they didn't bother with me.

"Jen is everything alright?" Jack asked me as I was just staring at my food. Oliver was blatantly ignoring me and I felt his stares when I wasn't looking.

"Oh uh yeah." I said coming out of my day dream.

"Wanna come with me to get a drink?" He offered nicely and I refused him but he insisted. We got up and left everyone at the table. "I heard about what happened with you and lily."

"Really? What did you hear?"

"She didn't give much details but she made it pretty clear that you two weren't best friends anymore." Jack said walking alongside me as we queued.

"She said that?" I mumbled sadly biting at my fingernails.

"Oh yeah sorry--" he said as if he'd said the worst thing in the world.

"It's fine if you knew you'd probably freak out too." I mumbled.

"Well now you have to tell me." Jack chuckled.

"Not here. Not now." I smiled walking back to the table as he followed behind me.

"Yeah I'm fine." I said on the phone to Richard that night before I was going to bed.

"You're sure? You don't want to come stay at mine this weekend?" He asked me gently.

"No I'll be fine--" there was a sudden knock at my rooms door and I panicked that it might be Lily, "I gotta go." I said quickly to Richard and hung up.

"Come in." I said sitting on the edge of my bed and standing up when the door opened. "Jack?" I frowned in confusion.

"You said not in the canteen so I though now was more private." He responded with a small smile.

"More private for what? You're in my bed room it can't get more damn private?" I complained looking at him in shock.

"For you tell me what happened? I'm curious." Jack shrugged effortlessly.

"Let take a walk." I sighed looking around for my coat and some shoes. "I can't do this here."

"You remember Richard?" I signed looking over at Jack as we walked.

"Briefly." He smiled.

"Well you were right something was up with him. I've been dating him for 4 months." I explained taking a deep breath.

"You--"

"Yep." I hummed. "And not only did I keep it a secret, I kept it a secret from my best friend to whom I tell everything."

"Richard? I knew something was up with that guy he was way to into you to be an ex. Too flirty." Jack shook his head in disbelief.

"Yes well he's like that anyway." I hummed.

"Still, I don't see a need for lily to go complete bat shit crazy?" Jack said fairly.

"I guess she has a right to? I lied to her for 4 months about something pretty damn important. I snuck out around her, lied to her about where I was going and I even called her when I was with him." I confessed this all to him.
