AH 2:Goodbye Venus, Hello Veronica!

After ten years...

"How many time do I have to tell you that your curfew is nine?!" dad shouted "Do you know what time is it?! It's two in the morning for goodness sake!"

It was two o'clock in the morning when I hear my twin and our father downstairs arguing all over our big living room.

"I don't care dad!" Veronica hissed "Malaki na ko! Uuwi ako kung kelan ko gusto! So don't shit on me you mother-fucker old man!"

As I watch dad and Veronica quarrel. I can't help but to feel guilty for what happened ten years ago.

Maybe if I had just followed kuya for not leaving the bench, maybe this wouldn't be like this.  Maybe dad and Veronica wouldn't always arguing, maybe mom would still be alive until now.

Maybe we all would still be okay— I'm such a spoiled kid that time. Nagsisisi na ko.

"Wala kang galang!" nangigigil na duro ni daddy sa kambal ko "Remember this! that this old mother-fucking old man was still your damn father! Respect me!"

"Damn it!" Veronica cussed, "I don't fucking care! Die all you want!"

Veronica stared at daddy as she raise her middle finger.

"— Just stop messing with me! I can control my fucking damn life you freaking old man!"

"Veronica!"

I was shocked when kuya Vince suddenly interfered. I didn't know that he was there next to me.

Our older brother was always been patience toward everything, he had a long restraint of anger, he was just holding back because he knew that my twin are doing this crazy stuff because she just can't still accept the fact that mommy was gone.

She just wanted to escape reality. We all knew Veronica was broke.

And it was all my fault.

"Pati ba naman ikaw kuya?!" my twin hissed "Sige! Magkampihan kayo! Diyan naman kayo magaling eh! Sa pangiinis sa akin! Sa pagtutulong tulong niyo sa akin!"

"I've had enough of your attitude, Veronica!"

Now si kuya naman yung galit ngayon. I bit my lower lip as I slowly shake my head— Oh god! This is not good!

"— Grow up!" he shouted, "Mom died happily so just be with it and fuckin' move on!"

He hissed.

"Easy for you to say, kuya"

Mariing pumikit si Kuya bago sumingal sa kakambal ko.

"Your not the only one who misses her so please, Veronica" kuya stared blankly. "Don't do this shitty things to us and don't blame Venus, she didn't kill mom, mom save her!"

"NO!"

Veronica is in rage.

"— It's her fault, it's her fucking fault! Mommy died because of her and that won't ever change the fucking truth that she killed my mom!"

Natulala ako nang umalpas ang mga luha sa kanyang nga mata.

My heart aches.

"— MY MOM! It's my mommy! She killed her!"

I approached and knelt on my twin. I didn't know that she was so angry at me that she cursed me to the bone.

"Veronica, ate, I'm sorry I didn't mean to" I cried. "I love mom and I don't want that happened to her. I-I'm so sorry"

"Venus stand up. That wasn't your fault. It's nobody's fault. It was an accident"  dad sighed "Stand up, young lady!"

I still didn't stood up even through dad and kuya were making me stand up. I just looked up into my twin sister's eyes and to my disappointment I saw hatred into it.
