"Isabella! Wake up!"

Her eyes popped open and she sat up. She was in a daze and stared blankly at the worried expression on her brother's face.

"Lewis?"

"Yes. Are you alright Isabella? You look like you've seen a ghost."

It was a dream....but it felt so real.

"Lewis? What exactly is foresight?"

He raised an eyebrow.....her father does that a lot, or should she say DID that a lot?

"I don't think we really have time for-"

"Please?"

He gave out an exasperated sigh.

"Well, it's almost as if you can see into the future. You know what is probably going to happen, and how it will happen."

"Can that be passed on through generations?"

"Through blood?"

"Yeah."

"Probably. People have been know to take on the personal characteristics of their forefathers. In our case that is doubly so."

"Why?"

"The snake-men have a very close bond through magic. It is the second thing we cannot live without."

"What's the first?"

"Blood."

An earsplitting whistle erupted from the deck.

"Ahhh....that would be the Captain. I'll be back. Don't go anywhere."

With that he left the room.

"So it can be passed down?"

Isabella thought to herself. She shuddered at the grisly image she had seen in her dream. She had been dreaming a lot lately, first the winds and now this. In every one there had been some mention of the 8th.

Everyday since, the dethroning speech she had become more fascinated with the mystery of the 8th. However, she didn't want to find him; not yet anyway. For, the closer she got to the 8th, the closer she came to her father's death.

"Isabella."

Lewis was back, Captain Onyx de la Fluer standing behind him.

"The ship has landed princess. We're on the isle of Malgosia. Care to take a look?"

Curious she followed the two outside and was immediately awe struck.

The ship was sailing slowly on a calm watery road decorated by floating lanterns that lit either side of their path. All around them sailed ships, of various colors and sizes, all guided my the mysterious lights, that directed them towards a bustling dock.

It was night time, and around them was the busy, slurring tongues of pirates and the rustling of sails.

"It's beautiful."
