The Apocalypse: Chapter 53

We didn't wait for them to finish this time. We hit their head, and damn. So many butterflies, it's really gross.

My shirt is covered with blood. I checked my jacket for bloodstains, thank God there's only tinie tiny amount on the tummy and on the sleeves.

We left the room. Once we were out I took off my blood stained shirt. I'm still wearing my Jacket, though.

We checked the other rooms and collected some pillows and blankets.

We only checked ten room on this side. We don't want any other zombie confrontation. We get back on the "safe side".

"Where were we when we stopped?", asked Yusuke.

"I don't know..", I smiled to him. I looked at Chardie and Criz talking. They look like they're arguing on something. I better not get into it. I'll just have to wait for Criz to tell it to me.

We checked several rooms, and picked what looked safe. I think we're on the deeper side of the abandoned hospital. I can't see the door anymore. We're about to leave when Chardie screamed.

"What the?!", he screamed.

We all turned to him. He was on the floor getting dragged by a zombie.

"Oh crud!", the zombie ain't limping. It's just dragging him like he's a bag of trash.

We rushed to help him. But the zombie gazed on us and hissed under its tongue (if it still has it) and went running, still dragging Chardie in the darkest corner of the hospital. We stopped running as we heard Chardie screaming for help. All of us can't muttered a single word. I looked each one of them, their faces.. full of fear and shock on what we're hearing. I gulped when we heard the ripping of Chardie's body.. still screaming.

'Gab! Move! Help Chardie!' screamed of my mind. I looked at my feet, I can't move even a single step.

"Oh, God.. Chardie.." Criz whispered. I tilted my head as Criz muttered these words. Still hearing the ripping of Chardie's body, I took a step.. and another.. and another.. My heart was pounding fast.

Silence...

When we didn't hear anything.. I looked at 'em and started to walk fast. Slowly..

"Bro. Don't.." Yusuke whispered. As I stopped walking, behind me was Cy, crying. When the hell did he get here? My mind was arguing if I should stay or if I should go and save Chardie.. if he's still there.

"Let's get out of here." finally Megan managed to say.

"How 'bout my brother? We can't just leave him here!"

"He's dead." said Criz without any emotion.

"Tsk! How sure you are, huh? What if he's waiting huh? What if he's still alive?!" yelled Cy.

"Criz was right. He's dead. I saw it." Megan said. Yeah, we saw how the zombie ripped Chardie's body. Ripped but not eaten. Not eaten?

"Let's go." as Criz said it, we started running out of that place.

"No, wait!", I stopped on my tracks and turned my back.

"What are you doing, idiot?!", Criz hold my shoulders.

"I'm gonna kill it first.", I said.

"What?! Are you out of your mind!? You're gonna die, did you see what he did to Chardie's body?!", she yelled.

"I saw it. But.. I'm already dead.", I said as I started walking where we came from..

As I walked through the hallway, I could still hear 'it' ripping Chardie's lifeless body. I heard bone being break, dripping of blood. I could smell the blood.. and it's making me hungry. 'No! Stop that!' my conscience boomed inside my head. What? I just said it's making me hungry, duuh.

At last, I tried not to gag as I watched 'it' munching some intestines from Chardie. Footsteps from behind.. I turned and saw the others, I gestured them to stop. Thank God, they did.

When all of a sudden, I fell to the floor, 'it' was over me.

Outside, Lawrence approached Cy while he walked out the double doors. While the other's approached us.

"What happened?", asked Lawrence to Cy.

"Brother's... dead..", Cy mumbled through sobs. I can't barely understand because it's muffled. Lawrence looked at me, asking me what happened. I smiled half-heartedly and mouthed 'Later'. She nodded in understanding and comforted Cy.

"Damn.", I heard Yusuke mumbled beside me.

"What?", I asked him. He's looked at me then back to the hospital.

"Do we have to stay there? I mean, it's dangerous, looked what happened to Chardie.", he whispered the last sentece.

"Yeah, we'll just have to barricade the part that's safe to the part that isn't...", said Criz. "..where... you know..", she trailed off and looked at the ground.

"Okay, but..", Yusuke protested but didn't continue. "Yeah, sure..", he said.

"What happened there?", Johy asked looking at us puzzled. "We heard shouting."

"We'll tell later.. Me and the other's are tired.. let's just est here outside for a while."

They all nodded and started building camp. Oh gosh.. I glanced at the door. 'That thing is still alive.'
