I talked my mom into letting me finish the semester, like originally planned. With one exception, I have to switch my schedule around to match my brothers, we already have the same classes just different periods. My mom told my consoler and the nurse about what was happening. Then my consoler went on and told my teachers what was happening. All but one teacher said that they would help out, can you guess which teacher it is? That's right, Mr. Bercolze. He doesn't like the fact that I'm moving periods to be with my brother. Plus his class is nothing but presentation, which means standing in front of the class. Our next project is lining our family time line with a time line of the US. Me and my brother could just do it together, but the stupid teacher doesn't want that. I started arguing with him so I got kicked out. So right now I'm making my way to the counseling office to complain about his teaching. I walked in and over to the receptionist. She smiled at me.
"Hello how may I help you?"
"Hi, I need to talk to my consular, Ms. Page."
"OK go on in, she should be there." I nodded my thank you and walked into her room.
"Oh Emily! What do you need?"
"I'm here to talk about one of my teachers."
"OK which one?"
"Mr. Bercolze."
"What happened?"
"Well he just kicked me out of class because I refuse to stand in front of the class without my brother. He sucks at teaching, he gives us 2 minutes to write our notes down. He gives us too much home work, I understand if he would give us a chapter to work on, but he gives full units to do all in a span of 2 days. I've always been able to get it done, but I've always also had to help my brother which in turn, means doing double the work because my brother understands zero things about US history." I took a deep breath after my mini rant to my counselor about my horrible teacher.
"So what would you like me to do?"
"Well, I would either like you to talk to him or transfer me and my brother out of his class and into another." She typed into her computer and mine and my brothers transcripts popped up.
"Well, you and, thanks to you, your brother have all the history credits you need so you can both drop history and replace it with something like parent release."
"Yes let's do that, my mom would actually like that better then me being here. With as many attacks as I have been having lately."
"OK, I'll send for your brother and we'll triad your 4th and 8th period with a parent release and study hall." She sent a note for my brother. "So for study hall you can go home or stay here. Which would you prefer?"
"I would like to go home." She nodded. Then my brother walked in.
"What's going on?"
"Mr. Smith please take a seat. Your sister complained so I'm giving you both parent release and a study hall. Study hall you will both be going home for as well."
"Sounds good to me." She nodded and got to work on changing our schedules around, for the second time this week. I'm so glad it's Friday. She printed off our new schedules and excused us. As we were walking out to our cars guess who we ran into. That's right, Bryan. I was just scrolling through my phone and I actually ran into him. I fell to the ground, the very hard concrete ground, I closed my eyes on the way down.
"Ow." I said as I sat up and rubbing the back of my head.
"Emily, are you OK?" That was my brother. I tried to open my eyes but when I did everything was blurry.
"I can't see properly." I said while snapping my eyes shut, still holding the back of my head.
"That's probably because you don't have your glasses on." That was NOT my brother. I opened my eyes again. The light hurt my head.
"Where are they?"
"Broken, on the floor."
"Great just great... What is mom gonna do? Mason she's gonna kill me. If it's not one thing it's the other. How am I supposed to get my car home?"
"I'll drive your car to your house. My bike is in the shop today anyway." I looked up to what looked to be an outline of Bryan's face. I debated for a couple of minute but reluctantly, I agreed.
"Fine. Just please done wreck it."
"I won't wreck your car." Mason helped me up and I handed Bryan my keys.
"If there's one thing out of place I will not hesitate to kill you."
"She's really protective over her car isn't she?" Bryan asked my brother.
"You have no idea." I could tell my brother rolled his eyes, I couldn't see do I just slapped the person closest to me.
"What the hell was that for?!" Oops, wrong person.
"Sorry, I was aiming for my brother."
"Why were you aiming hit me?"
"Because I could tell you rolled your eyes at me."
"I hate having a twin sometimes." I flipped him off. OK, yes I'm a 'good girl' but around my bad boy of a twin I do things I don't normally do.
"What? The good girl, just flipped off her own brother? What has this world come to?" Now it was my turn to roll my eyes.
"Ok, can we go now. I'd rather get yelled at and have an attack before I have to go get Alic..." I then started to blindly walk to the front door, which I ran into. "Mason please help." He helped me out to the car and he sat me in the passenger seat.
"Bryan just fallow us to the house." My brother said. I'm just assuming Bryan nodded. Then we took off in the direction of our house. When we got there I heard my car pull in next to us. Mason forgot I couldn't see so he left me sitting in the car. Bryan noticed and helped me. He lead me to the door and walked me over to the couch sitting me down.
"Mom! We're home!" Mason called out to her. My mom walked in.
"Oh, hello Bryan what are you doing here?"
"I drove Emily's car home."
"Why didn't she drive it home?" She looked at me and her face contorted with anger. Well I'm just guessing by the outline.
"Well I'll be going now see you around..." Bryan awkwardly waved and jogged outside.
"Mom.." I tried to speak before she could but it didn't work.
"EMILY JESSICA SMITH! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOUR GLASSES!"
"Broken." I whispered.
"WHY ARE THEY BROKEN!" My breathing was become next to nonexistent. I couldn't see, so it didn't make it any better. I was shaking, I was sweating. I can't do this.
"MOM! STOP, YOUR CAUSING HER TO HAVE AN ATTACK!" Mason yelled at her.
"I DONT CARE RIGHT NOW! I WANT TO KNOW WHY HER GLASSES ARE BROKEN!"
"Mom she fell to the ground, she hit her head. She had just came out of an argument with our old history teacher she wasn't doing good. She accidentally ran into Bryan, she fell her glasses broke. Now please stop yelling." My mom shut her mouth and Mason was hugging me trying to get me to calm down. It wasn't working.
Breath Emily, breath. In. Out. In. Out. Still it wasn't working. I push my brother away and pulled my legs to my chest. Breath, please, breath. Tears ran down my face, someone came walking in.
"Sorry I forgot to give..." The voice stopped mid sentence. "What the?"
"Don't just stand there Bryan, help do something, she's never had one last this long before." My mom was freaking out. I felt someone pull me into them. It was Bryan he started whispering things like, 'it's going to be alright', 'take deep breaths'. I lost track of what else he said I just kept smelling his Cologne, it was a constant so why not focus on that. After a couple of minutes I was semi back to normal. I was breathing OK, I wasn't crying, or sweating or shaking. I pulled away from Byran. My mom handed me my other glasses and I looked back at Bryan. I smiled at him.
"Thank you, again."
"Anytime." He winked setting my keys on the coffee table and walked out.
"What the hell was that?" That would be my mom.
"I have no idea." I said.
