Chapter Seventy
"I'm sorry Ash," I mumble again, my head resting on his shoulder.
"You've said that already baby girl and I told you that I forgive you. So stop apologising," he giggles while pressing a kiss into my hair.
I let out a huff of air, my heart melting at his touch, "I'm still sorry."
"We're here," the driver says in a bored voice.
"Thank you," Ashton says before opening the door to the car and climbing out.
I quickly follow suit, limping a little bit to get out of the way of the door. Ashton hands me my crutches which he must have grabbed from the boot of the car. I send him a small smile as I take them from him.
"Let's go!" Michael screams.
"Our stuff though Mikey," I mumble while looking over to see a guy getting the things from the boot of the car.
"Someone will bring those up for us Milly," Luke says from next to me, scaring the hell out of me.
I place my hand on my chest while glaring at him, "Don't creep up on people like that. You scared me!"
His laugh fills the air before he mumbles a quick apology and running inside the hotel after Michael and Calum. I let out my own laugh before following after the three hyper active boys. Once I reach the doors, I stop, turning around to see Ashton still standing next to the car on the phone. I can't hear what he's saying from here but he looks either worried or scared. I'm not sure what.
"Ash? You alright?"
He snaps his head to me before sending me large smile, continuing his conversation with whoever is on the other end of the line. Shaking my head, I decide to go inside, happy to find out that they're automatic doors and I won't have to ask someone to help me. That's the worst part about having crutches. The inability to do certain everyday things on your own.
I hate that I can't open a door or walk up and down stairs. It's just all the little things and not being able to do them is like you're this little child again who needs help with everything. I mean, it is worse to be in a wheelchair and I know this because I was in one for a few weeks. I mean, in a wheelchair you can't do anything at all but at least people notice these things and offer help. When you're on crutches, some people just expect you to be able to do everything.
I mean, I guess you can do most things on your own but, like I said, it's the little everyday things you can't do and when people expect you to be able to do them, it really hurts. To say to someone 'can you please open the door for me because I can't' is actually a really hard sentence to say.
I spot the three boys standing over by the desk so I hobble over there slowly while letting my eyes scan the lobby. It's actually really fancy with its sparkly concrete floor and what I think is marble walls. There is small plants in gold coloured pots places around the room and it honestly makes me want to leave and go find some hotel where I can walk in and feel as if I fit in there.
This place just seems way too far above my status.
"Hey Mil, where's Ash?"
I look up and see Calum looking at me, "He's on the phone outside. I don't know who with either, before you ask."
Calum chuckles before turning back to the older woman at the desk who seems to be fuming from ear to ear. I look at the other two boys who are standing a bit further away from the desk whilst trying to hold back their laughs. Sending them a strange look, I shake my head before looking back to Calum who seems to be having a very heated discussion with the older desk lady.
"She doesn't believe him that he's in the band with Ashton Irwin cause the room is under Ashton's name," Michael mumbles as he and Luke come to stand by me.
"Really?" I say surprised while also trying to hold back a grin.
"Yep. She won't give him the keys unless Ashton confirms it," Luke laughs quietly.
We continue to watch Calum and the lady have their 'discussion' for a few minutes before Ashton finally walks into the building and over to the desk, "You got the keys Cal?"
"No," Calum huffs while turning to look at Ashton, "She doesn't believe me that we're in the same band!"
Ashton lets out a little giggle before looking at the woman, "We are in the same band. In fact, us four boys are all in the same band and Milly over there is with us. Anyway, may I please have our room keys?"
I watch as the woman begins to apologise profusely to Calum before turning around and searching for the room keys. A few moments later she hand over five key cards, a couple more apologies falling from her mouth. The poor woman, she must be extremely embarrassed about her behaviour. I actually feel bad for her.
Ashton picks up the keys, thanking the lady, before walking off towards the elevator. We all follow suit, Calum still steaming from ear to ear. Once we reach the elevator, the doors are already open and Ashton is standing inside. We all pile in and the doors close and that's when we all lose it. We all break into laughter, causing Calum to get even madder.
"Oh that was priceless!"
"That was pure gold right there."
"Sorry Cal, looks like you're not a part of the band anymore!"
"It's not funny guys!" Calum grumbles while crossing his arms.
"It kinda is," I mumble while wiping tears from my eyes.
As I look up to see the very mad look on Calum's face, I hear the doors open and I take off before he do anything to me. And that's when I notice that we're in the penthouse, bachelor pad room. I let out a small gasp when I realise how much this would have cost them.
"You guys are insane!" I exclaim, the boys coming to stand next to me.
"Why?"
"Why would you book this room?" I ask them.
"Because we kind of need it if I'm being honest," Ashton says, a small smile playing on his lips.
"And why would we-" I stop instantly when I notice a very familiar looking Irish boy sitting on the couch before me, a huge smile on his lips, "Niall!"
YEAH BOYS!!!!!!
Or girls if you don't want me to call you boy...
So that video up the top is the song I have been listening to on constant repeat while I've been writing this. It's called NOT ABOUT ANGELS by Birdy and it is so amazing. That's the same song that was used in Battle of the Bands the other day.
Also in other news, you guys remember Pen Pal??
Some of you might not even know what I'm talking about but I've finally decided on where I'm going with that book and I'm going to bring it back as soon as I write a few more chapters.
God I have too many books that I want to write don't I....
