Sleepy

My eyelids fluttered open, the sunlight kept through the blinds filling the room with a light glow. I put my hair in a bun and walked to my 5 month old son Tanner's room. I opened the door slightly and saw Shawn standing there holding him in his arms and humming 'can't help falling in love'. I smiled and opened the door a little, and walked in. Shawn looked up for a second and smiled down at his child.

I placed my hand on Shawn's back, as he laid Tanner back in his crib. We quietly walked out of his room. "Good morning baby." He said before he kissed me gently on the lips.

"Good morning, did you sleep okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, but Tanner didn't. He would sleep for about 1 hour and then wake back up." Shawn explained.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked as I played with his hair.

"I didn't want to, you stayed up with him the night before and you were exhausted so I helped last night." Shawn laid his head in the crook of my neck.

"Come on, lets go lay down." I said. He lifted his head and walked back to our bedroom. I laid down beside him and he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. He laid his head in the crook of my neck and kissed it. "Goodnight." He whispered against my skin.

"Goodnight."
