Nights

Here I am, laying in the empty bed waiting for you to get home. I turned over on my side and tried to fall asleep. The sound of thunder made my eyes flutter open. My black lab that Shawn got me for our 1 year anniversary jumped up on the bed with me and curled up in a ball beside me. It was 12:45 AM, and Shawn still wasn't home. I was beginning to worry when my phone lit up with a call from Shawn.

"Hello?" I said feeling relief wash over me like a tidal wave.

"Hey babe. I'll be home in about 5 minutes. Sorry if I woke you up, but I don't have a key and I was making sure the front door is unlocked." Shawn said. I could hear some of his friends in the background talking.

"Yeah it is, just please be careful." I said softly due to my lack of sleep.

"I will. I can tell you're tired baby, go to sleep I will be home soon." Shawn said in a soothing voice that could put me to sleep instantly.

"I love you." I said twisting the fabric of the blanket that was covering my body.

"I love you too, now get some sleep. I will be home soon and we can cuddle okay?" He said.

"Okay." We ended the phone call.

My eyelids were getting heavier and heavier by the minute. The tv show, The vampire diaries, was the only sound in the bedroom making it easy for me to fall asleep. I closed my eyes and eventually sleep took over my body.

Shawn's pov:
It had been a long, but fun night. I didn't drink tonight because I know that Y/N hates it when I do, and she worries even more than usual. The light turned green signaling me to go. I couldn't wait to get home and see her. I can't wait to climb into bed beside her and pull her close to my chest. She loves it when I rub her arm or back, even her hand. She also likes it when I play with her hair. I pulled into our driveway and turned the car off. I got out of the car and walked up to the front door. I pulled my keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door. I was greeted by Jake. I let him outside in the backyard and then walked up the stairs to our room. She was sleeping peacefully underneath our white comforter. I smiled to myself and changed into some comfortable clothes. I walked back downstairs to let Jake back in the house. He came in wagging his tail knowing that it was bedtime. "Come on boy." I whispered to Jake as we ran up the stairs quickly but quietly.
I pulled the covers back and climbed into the bed. "Baby I'm home." I whispered in her ear. Her eyes fluttered open and looked up at me. "Did you have fun?" She asked turning over and putting her head in the crook of my neck. "Yeah, Ian got really drunk, and Brian had to drive him home." I explained remembering the night. "Typical Ian." She said sarcastically. I laughed a little and traced random shapes on her back. "Goodnight beautiful." I said kissing her neck softly. "Goodnight." She said kissing my lips gently.

So I'm in a car on my way to Tennessee rn. It's 10:11 pm rn and I'm now where near Tennessee😒
