"Run." He said. I looked at him with confusion. "Right now?" He smiled and said, "See you won't do it." I scoffed, "you don't know that." I looked at the cigarette pack he brought up here on the water tower. He pushed the pack towards me, "take one." His eyes burned into mine. I reached for the pack, but pulled my hand back as soon as I touched the cold plastic.
"Why do you do it?" I asked rolling my eyes. "Do what?" He asked swinging his feet back and forth over the metal pole. "Why do you always want to prove me wrong?" I asked. He looked at me with a smirk, "Because I know I can always get to you." "Wow." I said sarcastically. I stood up and shook my head. "You're an ass." I said walking away from him. I heard loud footsteps coming closer to me. "I told you." I turned around and saw him standing with a small grin and a cigarette in his mouth. "Shawn, don't do that." I said running over to him and taking the deadly thing out of his mouth. "It wasn't even lit." He said shaking his head. "Were you going to light it?" I asked trying to meet his eyes. "No, I could never do that." He said letting his eyes find mine. "Why?" I asked. "Because I know you don't like the smell of smoke."
His eyes flickered from my lips to my eyes. The faint light from the moon made his eyes glisten in the dark. He cupped my cheek with his hand and brought his face close to mine. My breathing stopped as his lips inched closer to mine. He smiled and walked away. He went back to our spot and sat down. There was a deck of cards, 2 glass bottles of Coca-Cola that were half empty, and a full pack of cigarettes. I sighed and walked over beside him. There was a silence between us as we looked over the trees and water. "It's weird isn't it?" He asked breaking the uncomfortable silence. "What's weird?" I asked before taking a sip of my coke. "That we met here 3 months ago, and you saved my life, but yet we still come out here." Shawn said. My heart stopped when he mentioned his attempt, "It's a story for the books." I said throwing the empty glass bottle, and watching it fall to the ground. "Yeah, Pop sensation tries to kill himself by jumping off of a water tower, but stops when he notices a girl about to take her last breath." I looked at him and admired his facial features like his cheeks that always had a light pink color on them, his eyes that were hiding something, and a small scar on his cheek.
He looked at me with a small smile, "what are you staring at loser?" I shrugged, "A loser." A small breeze ran through my hair, causing me to shiver a little. "Are you cold?" He asked. "A little." He put his arm over my shoulder and pulled me close to his chest. His coat covered my body with warmth. The sound of his heartbeat made me feel safe, because if he would of jumped he wouldn't have one.
I really like this TBH......
