I watched as your tall figure slowly faded in the distance. I got caught up in the crowd of crying families saying goodbye. I wiped my warm tears and walked back to my car by myself this time. It seems like this gets harder and harder every time. Knowing it will be a while until I feel your lips against mine,  or feel the bed dip down beside me as your arm wraps around me and you pull me closer to your chest. The FaceTime calls let me know you still think about me, and I know you still care.

The sound of the radio echoed throughout the quiet car as I thought about our talk before you left.
"You know I'll be back." He said wiping away my tears with his thumbs. He pulled me into a warm hug and swayed us back and forth. "I love you." He said as he rubbed circles on my back. "I love you too." I said closing my eyes tightly trying to stop the tears.

The light turned green causing me to break my train of thought and make my way back to the empty house. Well it wouldn't be so empty, I mean my thoughts are also there to keep me company. I took a minute to try and recognize my surroundings when I noticed a familiar diner. I pulled into the parking lot and took the key out of the ignition. I made sure I didn't look like a raccoon before I opened the door. I walked into the cozy restaurant, the smell of maple syrup and bacon filled my nose as a warm feeling filled the diner. "Welcome to Mabel's just sit anywhere and I'll be there in just a second." A women with a red buttoned up top, clumpy mascara, and cowgirl boots on told me. I took off my coat and walked to the table I once sat at.

"Watch this." He said getting up from the booth and walking to the jukebox.

"What are you doing?" I asked as he walked back to the table. 'We don't have to take our clothes off' played through the small diner. A couple of people looked at us as Shawn held his hand out for me to take. He hummed the tune as he spun me around.

I smiled at the memories as a warm cup of coffee was sat in front of my with some creamer. I mumbled a thank you.
285 days until I see him. 285.
