can't do this

shawn's pov:

today is the day that Savannah  will take my last name. i looked in the miror as i tied my tie. "i thought i would of got married first." Ian said as he fixed his hair. i laughed a little, "i think everybody did." i stepped away from the miror and looked at ian. "Is she here?" I asked already knowing the answer. Ian shook his head slowly, "Maybe it's for the best is she doesnt come." Ian said. "yeah," i trailed off. "its time." ian and i laughed at what he said before we made our way to the church. as i stood on the wooden stage i scanned over all the family and friends that came. i finally came to the decision that it is best if she doesn't come. 

the double doors opened revealing the beautiful bride. the song 'thinking out loud' by ed sheeran played as she made her way to me. i took both her hands in mine when she stopped in front of me. The preist cleared his throat before saying, "We are gathered here today," i tried to focus, but all i could think about was y/n. "Do you shawn take Savannah Smith to be your-," the doors swung open interrupting, "Dont do it shawn." I turned towards the doors to see y/n. her eyes were bloodshot and tears fell down her pale cheeks. everyone looked back at her. savannah's grip tightened on my hands as she stared at y/n. "i love you shawn, you cant do this." "I'm sorry y/n, but i love savannah." her face turned soft as she processed what i said. she turned away and ran out the doors. "Should we continue?" the priest asked. savannah nodded her head and turned back to me. "Do you shawn," i cut  him off, "I can't do this." I let go of savannah's hands and ran out of the church. i ran to the only place she could be. it was where we first met. 

"y/n?!" i called out . i heard a loud splash come from behind me. i turned around quickly tp see her hands slowly fall down into the water. i ran over to the dock she jumped off of and dove into the cold water. it didnt matter that i just ruined a $600 suit, i had to save the love of my life. i wrapped my arms around her fragile body and brought her back up to the dock. "Stay with me baby." i said as i pushed on her chest and blew air into her lungs. "Come on!" i said. "You're strong y/n, you can pull through! come on." a loud sob passed my lips as i realized she was gone. i laid my head down on her chest as i cried. "please." i begged softly. i felt a small twitch under my hand. i looked up at y/n to see her coughing. her beautiful eyes opened up. "shawn," she said softly. "i'm right here babygirl." i said grabbing her hand. "im right here." i said kissing her hand.
