the diamond incrusted ring shined brightly on my left hand. I twisted the ring on my finger as I looked at the words on the white sheet of paper. i laid my head in my hands as tears fell down my cheeks.

"Why?" Shawn's voice was shaky as he spoke. I looked up to meet his bloodshot brown eyes.

"all we do is fight Shawn. it's gotten to the point where we fight over the smallest things." Shawn paced back and forth, running his fingers through his hair.

"y/n," he stopped and turned to look at me, "we can try to fix it. We can't just give up on each other." my hands were shaking, my eyes were overfilled with tears, as I slid down the bedroom wall.

Shawn sat down on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands. His back moved up and down as soft sobs passed his lips. I pulled my knees up to my chest as I thought about if this is what I really wanted.

Did I really want to end things with Shawn?

Did I want to give up on our marriage

I still love Shawn, and I don't want to leave him. I looked up to see him looking down at the floor. "Shawn," his eyes met mine. "I'm so sorry." His face softened, he got up from the bed and knelt down in front of me.

"If you really want to do this, then I will, but I'm still going to be in love with you and I know I won't be able to get over you." Shawn's pink lips trembled as he spoke.

"I don't want to." His eyes filled with hope as I talked, "I don't want to give up on us, but I don't want to fight anymore. I want to end my day with you sleeping beside me, and kissing me goodnight instead of you being downstairs on the couch." Shawn pulled me into his arms, i rested my head on his chest and held onto him tightly.

"We won't fight anymore, we will get through this. But please," he buried his hand in my hair, "please don't give up on us." He said the last part softly.

"I won't Shawn, I love you." I said lifting my head off his chest to look into his eyes.

"I love you so much more." He said before kissing me passionately.
