Jealous

Tonight was supposed to be Shawn and i's date night, but he had to work late with Ellie to fix some stuff in the there's nothing holding me back video. I was currently wearing my gray sweatpants, a tank top, and cozy socks while I watched friends on the couch. I heard the front door open signaling that Shawn was home.

"Hey baby." Shawn said smiling and walking over to me.

"Hey." I said softly. I know I shouldn't be mad at Shawn, but it seems like Shawn is spending more time working and slowly forgetting about me. I know it sounds selfish, but I am jealous that Ellie is getting a lot of his time, and I'm not. I know that it's his job, but i can't help but feel a little jealous.

"I'm sorry we couldn't have our date night, but I promise we will next Tuesday okay?" I licked my lips and nodded my head. He pecked my cheek before pulling out his phone and walking upstairs. I sighed and continued to watch friends.

"Babe," Shawn said walking down the stairs rubbing his eyes with the palm of his hands. My eyes looked over at Shawn.

"Why are you still up?" He asked in a groggy voice.

"I can't fall asleep." I mumbled. Shawn walked over to me and sat down beside me. He pulled me into his arms and let me lay my head on his chest. His arm rested over my body.

"Shawn," I said softly. He looked down at me signaling me to keep talking, "I'm jealous." I admitted. I usually would never confess that, but I was very tired and not thinking straight.

"Jealous of what?" Shawn asked looking into my eyes.

"Ellie," I sighed before continuing, "I know that you guys are just hanging out with each other because of the video, but I can't help it that I'm jealous. she gets to hold you hand, and get really close to you and even almost kiss you. I know I sound selfish, but I can't help it." I said sitting up.

"Miranda," he said placing his hand on my back, "I can understand why would be jealous, but I have no feelings for her or anything like that, so don't worry okay?" He said rubbing circles on my back.

"Okay." I said feeling a little better.

"Now come on," he stood up and took my hand in his, "lets go to bed."
