I walked down the street with my best friend, Abby, as we talked about anything and everything. "So," she said kicking a small rock into the road. "What?" I asked looking over at her. She had a small smile, and a curious expression on her face, "Has Shawn asked you yet?" I rolled my eyes and smiled. "No, he hasn't, and he isn't going to. Shawn and I aren't like that." I said causing my smile to fade. "What do you mean, 'like that'? Shawn and you are the only people I know that love each other, but don't express it." I bit my lip and said, "Look Shawn and I are never going to end up like that. He doesn't see me that way." I shrugged. She groaned and threw her head back, "God you're blind. Have you seen the way he looks at you? When he looks at you his face lights up, and a smile immediately appears on his face." I looked down to keep from smiling. "Whatever, has Tyler asked you out yet?" I asked trying to change the subject to her. "Nope, but I can tell he is going to do it any day now." She said smiling. "Well I want every detail when he does." I said pushing her shoulder a little. "Look it's the stop sign," I looked to my left and smirked, "Race ya!" I challenged. "Oh you're on." She said getting in her position to run. "1," I said. "2," she said smirking, "3." We both said and then took off. "Ha!" I said once we reached the fence that held back cows in a field. "Whatever, let's just go home." She said walking off. "Oh come on, you've beat me the last 2 times, I finally beat you." I said proudly. She smiled and flipped her hair.

I looked at the clock as it hit 11:55. 5 minutes until lunch. I wrote down some random answers on my paper and put it on the teacher's desk. I walked back to my desk, and then the bell rang. I put my book bag over my shoulders and walked to the lunchroom. "Can't wait for anybody?" Abby asked sarcastically. "Sorry, I really wanted to get out of math." I said smiling. "That bad?" She asked pushing her hair to one side of her head. "That bad, isn't that your next class?" I asked putting a dollar in the vending machine. "Don't remind me." She said rolling her eyes. "Hey babe." I heard Tyler say to Abby. I bent down to get my chips. "You guys are gross." I said looking up at them. Tyler had his arm over Abby's shoulder and smiled. "Don't be a hater." He said. "I'm not." I said opening my chips and pulling out a chair at a table. "Okay sure." Abby said sitting down beside Tyler. I noticed the empty chair, "Where's Shawn?" I asked pointing at the chair. They looked at each other, "Uh, he's sick." Tyler said. I nodded my head and ate another chip.°
"Where are we going?" I asked as Abby took my hand and pulled me outside. "Shh, trust me." She said. "Jeez okay." I said closing my mouth. She smirked at Tyler, and opened one of the double doors. She took me out to the baseball field where we have our softball games. Shawn stood there in his baseball uniform, and held a softball. Home plate was covered in rose petals, and had 'prom?' written on it in black paint. I covered my mouth and smiled. "Y/N, will you go to prom with me." I pulled my hand off my mouth and said, "yes!" He wrapped his arms around me and spun me around.
