Puppy

The tv echoed through out the quiet house. I let out a loud yawn and looked at the time. I sighed knowing Shawn wouldn't be home until midnight. I turned off the tv, grabbed my phone, and then walked up stairs to the bedroom. My phone rang while I was taking off my makeup.

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.

"Hey baby." Shawn's voice was raspy and soft.

"Are you okay?" I asked concerned.

"Yeah, I'm on my way home." He said. Relief rushed over me.

"Okay, well be careful. You know where the key is in case I'm asleep by the time you get home." I said walking out of the bathroom.

"Okay I love you." He said.

"I love you more." I said as I plopped down on the bed.

"I highly doubt that." Shawn said. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Get your ass home." I said causing him to laugh. We said our goodbyes and hung up the phone.

I pulled back the covers revealing the black sheets. I pulled the white comforter over my body. I laid my head down on the soft pillow. My eyelids became heavy causing me to fall asleep.

"Baby?" I opened my eyes to see Shawn standing over me with a smile. "I need help." Shawn said rubbing the back of his neck nervously. I sat up in the bed as I  rubbed my eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Well," Shawn grabbed something from behind him. "I kind of found this little guy," he turned around with a fluffy brown puppy. I gasped and took the dog from his hands, "Shawn you're allergic to dogs." I said. He shrugged, "Not this one. He sat in my lap the whole way here and I haven't had an allergic reaction." The small puppy curled up into a ball beside me. "Can we keep him?" Shawn asked. I looked up at him unsure. "Please." He begged. I smiled, "Fine." I said looking down at the adorable puppy. "What should we name it?" I asked running my hand over its fur. "How about Muffin?" Shawn suggested. I laughed, "Okay, muffin it is." Shawn kissed me on the cheek and got in bed beside me. We played with the puppy for a couple of minutes until we both got tired. "Goodnight princess." Shawn said leaning in to kiss me. My lips met his sending butterflies throughout my body. I felt a wet warm feeling stroke my cheek. I pulled away from Shawn to see Muffin wagging his tail and licking Shawn. I laughed and kissed Shawn again.
