"Please come it will be fun." My friend Nash begged. I sighed and said, "Fine, but if I don't like it I'm leaving." I said pointing my finger at him. He put his hands up and said, "Fine by me." I laughed and walked up to my room with Nash behind me.

"What should I wear?" I asked scanning through my clothes in my closet.

"Wear your Vans hoodie, with those light blue jeans, and red vans." Nash said. I laughed and said, "that was descriptive." He shrugged and said, "it was the first thing that came to mind." I took his advice and changed in the bathroom. I left my hair in its natural curly state and applied my usual makeup.

"Yo what's up man?" Nash said doing some weird hand shake with a blond hair boy.

"Nothing much, who's this?" He asked looking at me.

"Oh Sammy this is Y/N, Y/N this is Sammy." Nash introduced. Sammy and I shook hands and smiled. "Come on." He said walking to the kitchen. He offered me a drink in a red solo cup, but I shook my head. He shrugged and drank it himself. "You guys have fun." He said looking over Nash's shoulder at some girl. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. "So I'm going to go over there, you have fun." Nash said before I could say anything else. I sighed and walked over to the couch in the living room. I sat down and watched as people talked, made out, and danced.  I felt someone sit down beside me. "Friends ditch you too?" I asked looking at the brown eyes, and haired boy. He smiled and said, "you guessed right." He said leaning back into the couch. "This sucks." I said. "You could say that again." He said laughing lightly.

"I'm Shawn." He said after a minute of silence between the both of us.

"I'm Y/N." I said smiling lightly.

"I like your sweatshirt." Shawn said, I looked at him and noticed he was also wearing a Vans sweatshirt. I laughed and said, "Thanks, I like yours too." He smiled and said, "so no drink?" I shook my head, "I don't drink." "Me neither." He said. I looked at him shocked. "What?" He asked. "I just didn't see you as the type that doesn't drink." I shrugged. "Then what do you see me as?" He asked laying his arms over the back of the couch. "Well, the type that drinks and parties  every weekend, has girls drooling over him, and is on the baseball team." I said, he laughed and shook his head. "I'm nothing like that, I hate parties, I have only had one girlfriend, and if any girl talks to me it's to know the answer to a problem on the history homework, and I play hockey." He corrected me. I smiled and said, "okay I was completely wrong, want to give it a shot?" I asked. He studied me for a second before saying, "Hates parties, probably listens to music 24/7 to drown out her problems, has had maybe 2 boyfriends but they broke her heart, and you probably took dance because your parents wanted you to, but you quit."

I was shocked with how close he was, "okay first of all, It wasn't dance," I paused, "it was gymnastics, and I've had 1 boyfriend that broke my heart." I said. He smirked and looked at the crowd, "I know this sounds crazy, but do you want to go get ice cream or something?" He asked. I was hesitant, "how do I know your not a ax murder?" I asked.
"There's always that possibility." He said quoting The Fault In Our Stars. "A boy that reads." I said laughing. "A girl that knew my reference." He copied. "Alright let's go get ice cream." I said, he laughed and stood up with me.

Little did I know that strange boy I met that night at that party would end up being my boyfriend, and then my husband, and the father of my children.
