Darius left the boys' room. Jagger was sitting in the corner playing a game on a tablet. The alpha could see the pup's fur bristled as he passed.
Storm stopped folding laundry and hurried over to her mate. "Is he okay? Did it heal? Should we get Daven to heal it?"
"Storm." He grabbed her hands and lifted them up to his lips. He gave them a simple kiss before looking at her. "He's fine. Tired, but fine. I healed it. Raven is going to be just fine. But I do think, he needs some time with his mother." He kissed her cheek. "I'm going to find Daven, so we can have that talk."
She nodded and glanced Jagger. "Maybe you should?"
Darius shook his head. "Another day. I need to make sure Daven alright."
She hugged him. "It was an accident. Don't forget that."
"I know."
They parted, and the alpha wandered out of the room. It had taken a while to calm Raven down. Even after falling asleep, the pup had clung to him. He weaved through different tunnels, but couldn't find any sign of the older twin. Going outside, he sniffed the air. Still nothing very strong. He thought for a moment, pushing back his head fur. The last time he had seen his son, Daven was sitting on top of that rock. The alpha cursed under his breath while running a hand down his face. That was most likely where he find him.
He headed toward the far side of the cave. The closer he came to the boulder where the boys had been playing the strong Daven's scent became. He hopped from one rock to another until he landed where he had found Raven. His son still sat where they had left him.
Darius climbed on top and sat next to the boy. He didn't say anything. They just sat there and looked out over the forest that was speckled with the last light of the day.
Daven shifted and laid his head on his knees, so he was facing away from his father. "Is he okay?"
"Raven will be fine."
"I didn't mean to hurt him. I don't even know what I did."
Darius took a deep breath. "Next month you're going to turn thirteen, and with that comes a rank. That's not the only change."
Daven sat up and peered at his father. "I didn't mean to."
The alpha saw the tears forming in his son's eyes. He quickly pulled the pup into a hug. "I know. I know."
"You were so mad," he breathed. "Everyone was so mad at me. But I didn't mean to. I didn't want to hurt him. I was trying to help."
"I know, Daven. It was an accident. I know that now. I'm sorry about before." He rocked Daven until the pup started to calm down.
After a few minutes, the black and red werewolf sat up and roughly cleared his face. "Don't tell mom."
Darius ruffled the boy's hair. "This stays between you and me. Whatever is said doesn't leave this rock."
Daven sniffed. "I'm I still going to get to be a dominant even though I cried."
The alpha chuckled. "Who says you'll be ranked a dominant. I haven't decided yet."
"Dad."
Darius put his arm around his son's shoulders. "Dominants are allowed to cry. If you didn't, I might think you're more cut out to be a rogue."
Wringing his hands together, Daven nodded. "It was toxins, right?"
"Only one way to check." Darius held out his hand. "Punishment for being an ass early. Give me all you got."
